Abstract:

Introduction: The covid pandemic 19 brought about profound changes in society's way of life, exposing humanity to fears, stress, uncertainties and anguish, in which this delicate moment brought out the values of religion and spirit. Objective: To reflect on the effects of spirituality and religiosity on the integral care of human beings, during the Covid 19 pandemic period. Method: Exploratory, theoretical-reflection research, carried out from the experience of the authors and readings of scientific articles, available in electronic databases: Latin American and Caribbean Literature on Health Science (LILACS), Scientific Electronic Library Online (SCIELO), US National Library of Medicine (PubMed), Virtual Health Library (VHL) and Ministry of Health portal Results: Religiosity and Spirituality have been the basis of health practices since ancient civilizations and also throughout history. Recent studies show that the effects of incorporating them into the lifestyle are general, seen in all areas of the individual's life, primarily affecting his mind, his way of dealing with others and his own life, presenting itself thus, as an important strategy to mitigate and / or eliminate the harmful effects caused by the pandemic that we are currently experiencing. Conclusion: Social isolation, imposed by the covid 19 pandemic, considerably affected the population's mental health, exposing it in depth to fragility. At this moment, religiosity and spirituality showed effectimportant in overcoming challenges and problems, when incorporated into the lifestyle. Thus, it is expected that health professionals consider the aspects of religiosity and spirituality for the promotion of human health.
