Satellite-derived bathymetry in the turbid and shallow waters of the bandama estuary (Cote D’Ivoire) using a landsat 7 etm+ multispectral image

In shallow waters, traditional bathymetric methods such as acoustic and LIDAR (Light Detection And Ranging) systems are accurate; however they are constrained by high operational costs, logistic difficulties and limited spatial coverage. Shallow water depth estimation using passive remote-sensing method is an attractive alternative as it provides a time- and cost-effective solution to water depths estimation.

Analysis of voltage levels in electrical energy distribution systems in a company in the industrial district of manaus/am

Electrical energy is a very precious asset for contemporary society because the social reality is directly linked to devices that are activated by this type of energy. This study traces an approach to promote the analysis of energy distribution in the voltage levels of an electrical system in a company in the Industrial Pole of Manaus (PIM) making a statistical approach to the quality of the energy transmitted by this system and the quality factor.

First record and damage ratio of Montella sp. (coleoptera: curculionidae) in vanilla plantations in Bahia, Brazil

The orchid Vanilla planifolia (Asparagales: Orchidaceae) is the best known and most economically important species of Orchidaceae in the world, and is widely used in the food, cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries. Commercial crops of this plantsuffer from constant attacks by beetles in southern Bahia, Brazil. This study reports the first occurrence of the weevil Montella sp. Bondar, 1948 (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) as a pest and describes and characterizes damage from this insect in commercial plantations.

A multi-scale canny detection technique for automatic assessment of fatigue cracking using morphological operators

The maintenance of existing pavements with a good quality is one of the key challenges to the pavement engineers. The pavement condition monitoring and evaluation is a complex task to proceed for making decisions regarding the appropriate maintenance strategies. Generally, the Pavement Condition Evaluation involves in measuring the roughness, skidding index and pavement distresses. The fatigue cracking is one of the major distresses occurring in flexible pavements. The present research study focused on detecting the fatigue cracking using the Digital Image Processing (DIP).

Effects of environmental context management and parameterization of angel jumping learning on the motor development of students at the emery patrice lumumba High School in Brazzaville (Congo)

Purpose: This study set out to assess the effects of environmental context design and parameterization of angel jump learning on students' motor development. Methods: 18 girls and 14 boys were submetted to 56 angel jumping lessons in a set up context (runway, springboard, moss 6mx3.60mx0.60m, 12m square walkway). They carried out tests to evaluate the strength of the upper limbs, the strength/speed of the lower limbs, the general dynamic coordination before and after learning the angel jump.

The origin of discussions around knowledge management in the organizational context

This study aims at identifying the main periods during which Knowledge Management (KM) is approached in literature in order to access the publications which provide the theoretical basis for this discussion. Therefore, an exploratory bibliographical research was carried out that identified publications prior to the 1980s; that is, the main period mentioned in literature on KM.It was also verified that in the mid-1970s there were already publications on KM, originated from the public sector, which had used studies produced during the 1960s.

A provisional assessment of the nacionalization of the electricy sector in bolivia (2010-2019)

This article analyzes the nationalization process of the electrical sector in Bolivia from 2010 to 2019, bringing some results through the capacity of electrical energy in the Bolivian departaments, compared to the period in which the sector was privatized in the 1990’s. The analysis and the results were obtained from demographic censuses and Energy Ministry’s official documents. After Evo Morales resigned as the Bolivian president in 2019, a new government took over bringing a neoliberal agenda similar to that of the 1990’s.

Observatories: A systematic mapping of the literature

In the last decades, there was an expansion in the meaning and application of observatories. These observatories started to have an important role in the knowledge society, for that reason many observatories applied in the most diverse areas of knowledge appeared. With diversity a variety of definition for the observatories appeared. The absence of a widely accepted definition for these organisms makes it difficult to identify observatories and, consequently, limits the analysis of the phenomenon.

The pediatric trauma score more accurately predicts the severity of injury from road traffic accidents in children under the age of 7 years

Background: Road traffic accidents are potentially preventable multifactorial events due to factors such as vehicle fleet growth, human error and inadequate or insufficient laws, being responsible for a significant portion of morbidity and mortality in children. Objective: To calculate the Pediatric Trauma Score (PTS) and the Revised Trauma Score (RTS) and compare if there is a relationship between the severity of injury and the age of road traffic victims.
