Abstract:

The objective is to report the experience of care to a person with tuberculosis in rural areas. The rapporteur was a nurse, linked to the health secretariat of a municipality in the southern region of Ceará. She was encouraged to reflect on the social relation made available to the patient through the writing of a narrative. The reported social support was response to patient vulnerabilities, challenges to stigma and prejudice, mobilization of social actors and health staff in the conduct of supported care, and patient autonomy. The nurse's narrative reveals the complexity of care and seeking social support.
