Abstract:

The objective was to analyze the records of nurses who work in primary health care services in tuberculosis control actions. Retrospective documentary study with a quantitative approach, carried out in Basic Health Units located in the capital of Paraíba. It involved 30 medical records, using a structured form from 2012 to 2017. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics using Statsoft's Statistica 9.0 software. Positive findings were observed, especially in reference to the presence of nursing evolution (96.7%) and patient information about treatment (96.7%). However, there was an absence of notes with an emphasis on prevention, sputum smear and x-ray monitoring (96.7%), spirometry examination (96.7%), home visits (93.3%) and biochemical tests (92%). Weaknesses in the documentation process are evident, requiring professionals to assertively and completely complete nursing records, so that the information generated reflects the reality of care and underlies effective care planning for people with tuberculosis.
