The aim of the study is to find out the relationship between academic achievementand parental encouragement of high school students with reference to Gender and Locality of the student. In the present study normative survey method was employed and to assess the academic achievement of the high school students (X standard students), the board examination total marks (2015) is taken into account and for the assessment of parental encouragement the tool was constructed and standardized by the investigator For the purpose of the study a sample of 400 high school students were selected through stratified random sampling technique. The data were collected and Mean, Standard deviation, t-test were used to analyze the data. The results found that the levelof academic achievement and parental encouragement of high school students is average level. There is a significant relationship between the academic achievement and parental encouragement of high school students.
