Spaces of rural lodging in Brazil as sign of socialization for social sustainability

Studies on sustainability have not been based on the social dimension, which has dealt essentially with urban contexts, despite the rural territory; and research on rural lodging has rarely focused on the spatial attributes as sign of socialization for social sustainability. Therefore, the objective of this research was to demonstrate socialization in spaces of rural lodging in Brazil, which can mean social sustainability for the Brazilian rural territory.

Portanto, este estudo objetiva descrever as representações sociais de agentes comunitários de saúde sobre os aspectos histórico-culturais e sociais no contexto da violência doméstica contra a mulher.

Production of cyber surplus value in digital social media platforms: regulating, commodifying and criminalizing the space

Radical criminology was significant in the late 60s for advocating the illustration of class formation, structure and relation to crime. It has been considered that crime and criminality are not innate to individuals but their social circumstances. A specific mode of production ensures a specific form of society with a particular structure and functioning, thus also exists with spacing the crime and criminality. Henceforth the crime scene in late capitalism provides the virtual ground that carries a latent space for experiencing criminality.

Effect of iec interventions in wash to promote hand washing practices among primary school children in Kasongo Municipality, DRC

Poor personal hygiene and lack of knowledge about hand washing, leads to communicable diseases. Personal hygiene plays a major role to promote healthy life. The objective of this study is to promote hand washing and practices among primary school children in the Kasongo Municipality, Democratic Republic of the Congo. It is a cross sectional descriptive study conducted on 294 school children of Kasongo municipality. All the students were interviewed with a structured questionnaire (pretest).

Risk analysis due to ingestion of tracajá with arsenic in a Kayapó indigenous Village

The objective of this work was to evaluate the presence of As in the tracajá tissue consumed by indigenous people and added to the environment by the gold mining activity. The study area was the Kayapó indigenous region, on the Baú river, in the municipality of Altamira-PA, Brazilian Amazon. HNO3 and microwave were used for sample digestion. As was quantified by Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometry with Hydride Generation.

The effect of budget execution on health service delivery in Lira District, Northern Uganda

Budget execution is at the core of government businesses globally. This paper examines the effect of budget execution on health service deliver in Lira district, northern Uganda. We sampled two government-aided health Center IVs of Amach and Ogur in Lira district. We adopted a case study design and employed a mixed method approach. We sampled 78 respondents out of 96 health workers which included administrators, finance department, health workers, and health unit management committee. Simple random sampling technique and purposive sampling, were used to select the respondents.

This study explores the relationship of school dropout with poverty, having as interface the family with students in the modality of Youth and Adult Education (YAE). To this end, the context and influence of the family as a generational link of poverty is a premise for the issue of school dropout, age/grade distortion, and absenteeism. Indeed, many young people and adults who are unable to complete their studies build families and throughout their lives the generational poverty system is likely to be permeated by lack of educational qualification.

O envelhecimento é uma fase natural da vida do ser humano, o crescimento da população de idosos vem aumentando muito nos últimos anos, com isso, é gerada novas demandas que precisam ser atendidas, entre as várias necessidades existentes, a depressão entre idosos em Instituições de Longa Permanência é uma delas. O presente estudo tem como objetivo, identificar as principais causas da depressão em idosos institucionalizados. Para isso, foi desenvolvido uma revisão integrativa da literatura.

Drug contraceptive dispensation profile in a drugstore in southern minas gerais

Objective: To evaluate the profile of dispensing contraceptives used by women in a drugstore in southern Minas Gerais. Methodology: Exploratory and descriptive field research. The chi-square test was used in the construction of confidence intervals (CI) for proportion and difference between two proportions, at the nominal level of 5% significance. Results: It was verified that the most frequent age group was 26 to 35 years (40.00%). When dealing with a medical prescription, 45 (73.77%) reported having been prescribed by the doctor. Regarding the time of use, 23 (37.70%) use 1 to 5 years.
