Intensified use of chloroquine/hydroxychloroquine and consequences on oral health: A narrative and systematic review

In this article, the objective is to discuss, because of the pandemic resulting from the new Coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) and the axis was bibliographic research carried out in the field of Dentistry, the intensification of the use of antimalarial drugs chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine and the consequences for the oral health of citizens. The data sources were scientific platforms, books, and texts selected according to their relevance to the theme, seeking to diversify the sources, carefully selected.

Bilateral coronoidectomy associated with the use of acrylic resin for fixation of fractures in the mandible of a dog - Case Report

Mandibular fractures are relatively common in dogs, and damage to the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) can cause jaw immobility. A mixed breed dog with a history of escape and trauma of unknown origin and time of occurrence was treated at Animal Care Barueri Veterinary Clinic, in Barueri, São Paulo, due to which he returned home with lesions distributed throughout the body, mainly located in the face. The animal was sent for radiographs that showed a fracture in the mandibular symphysis, left mandibular ramus and bilateral mandibular coronoid processes.

Laryngeal symptoms and videolaryngoscopy findings in people living with hiv/aids in the central amazon Region: A case analysis

Introduction: More than eighty percent of patients infected with the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) will eventually develop ear nose and throat (ENT) manifestations, of which, 45% are associated with laryngeal symptoms. Objective: This study seeks to describe laryngeal symptoms and videolaryngoscopy findings in people living with HIV/AIDS (PLHIV) treated in a tertiary public health unit in Manaus, Amazonas, Brazil from March to May 2019.

Efeitos da fotobiomodulação e terapia fotodinâmica em comparação com o hidrogel no processo de cicatrização de lesões hansênicas

Objetivo: avaliar os efeitos da fotobiomodulação e terapia fotodinâmica com azul de metileno em comparação ao hidrogel no processo de cicatrização de lesões crônicas hansênicas. Método: de intervenção com abordagem quantitativa. Desenvolvido em um centro de referência para hanseníase no município de Teresina. A coleta de dados ocorreu entre janeiro de 2020 a fevereiro de 2021. Os 10 participantes foram divididos em três grupos aleatoriamente.

Autoclaving in the management of waste services Health: Brief assessment and outlook

The exposure to hexachlorocyclohexane in the human organism and in the environment: transformative actions

Introduction: According to Ministry of Health reports produced between 2001 and 2002, the presence of Hexachlorocyclohexane isomers was detected in the blood serum of the population of Cidade dos Meninos. After two decades, there is still no definitive solution to the problem, about 2,000 people continue to live in the region, exposed to the toxic substances. The objective of this study is to analyze the environmental impact of contamination by Hexachlorocyclohexane, with emphasis on the health of the population of this region.

Spirometric profile of patients in the chronic phase of Covid-19

Introduction: The SARS-CoV-2 virus that generates COVID-19 was the protagonist of the most impacting pandemic experienced by humanity. Responsible for thousands of infections, deaths and multisystem sequelae. The respiratory system, being the main route of viral contamination, was also the most compromised, with chronic repercussions regardless of the severity of the acute condition. Therefore, this article aims to critically review the studies that evaluated lung function through spirometry in the chronic phase of COVID-19.

Evaluation of microbial contamination in medical objects: A prospective observational cross-sectional study

Introduction: Healthcare-related infections (HCIs) include those that can be acquired as a result of any health care provided and may be caused by microorganisms present in various personal items of professionals during the provision of health care. The strains of microorganisms found in these personal items have shown high pathogenicity, ease of cross-transmission, and a reduced profile of sensitivity to different antibiotics.
