Introduction: One of the greatest victories achieved by humanity in the 20th century was the increase in life expectancy, which became, however, the great challenge for the current century that was accompanied by the gradual improvement of the health parameters of the populations, although these achievements are far from being distributed harmoniously in different countries and socioeconomic contexts. Objective: To describe and characterize from a sociodemographic and epidemiological point of view its influences on the diet of the elderly assisted in the university extension program.
