O impacto da pandemia da covid-19 no cotidiano dos idosos

Introduction: COVID-19 is a disease caused by the new coronavirus that presents itself more severely in the elderly population. Objective: Identify the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the daily lives of the elderly. Materials and Methods: It is a descriptive, exploratory research with a qualitative approach. The research took place in August and September 2021. The data obtained were analyzed by content analysis according to Bardin. Results: Thirty elderly people aged between 62 and 91 years old participated.

Clinical application of photodynamic therapy as an adjunct to the non-surgical treatment of chronic periodontitis: literature review

The present study aims to evaluate and compare the effects and advantages of photodynamic therapy (PDT) as an adjunct in the treatment of scaling and root planing (RPR), on the reduction of the clinical effects of chronic periodontitis, in relation to RPR alone. Method: Pappers were collected in the PubMed, LILACS and SciElo databases and descriptors were used in English and Portuguese, searched in DeCS: Photodynamic therapy (photodynamic therapy); Lasers (Lasers); Periodontal Medicine; Chronic Periodontitis (Chronic Periodontitis). A total of 35 studies were excluded and 19 were elected.

Atrial Myxoma - A Case Report

Atrial myxomas are benign primary cardiac tumors. Although its etiology remains unknown, recent studies have suggested genetic relationships linked to the Carney complex. An early diagnosis of this comorbidity is very important to ensure a better prognosis for the patient. Cardiac tumors are not frequent, with myxoma being the main example, predominantly affecting women after the fifth decade of life. In these cases, the tumor may present asymptomatically or with various manifestations that lead to a late diagnosis, delayed treatment, and possible compromise of a favorable prognosis.

Objetivo: Investigar a visão dos gestores e enfermeiros a respeito da coordenação do cuidado na Atenção Primária à Saúde (APS) e os desafios teóricos e práticos frente ao seu exercício. Materiais e Métodos: Utilizou-se da pesquisa social e do método de Análise de Conteúdo, bem como, entrevistas semiestruturadas e observação participante.

The choice of beauty, health and well-being franchises: A risk-return assessment

There are numerous franchises available on market today, so the research question of this work is: how could a potential franchisee choose his ideal franchise? Based on this question, the general objective is to give conditions of choice for a potential franchisee to make his decision. For this, a quantitative and descriptive methodology was applied, with usage of Multi-Attribute Utility Theory (MAUT) and the Monte Carlo Method in the results of an interview which was applied to 3 potential franchisees from the Beauty, Health and Wellness segments.
