Waste tyre reverse logistics in northern brazil

Considering the growing concern about environmental protection and the large-scaletyre manufacturing industry, the problem of improperly disposing of tyre waste has called attention. This paper aims to identify the waste tyre reverse logistics scenarioin Northern Brazil based on tyre reports drawn up by the Brazilian Institute of Environment and Natural Resources (IBAMA). The methodological procedure of this study consists of documentary research, where the IBAMA tyre reports from 2011 to 2017 were analysed to obtain data, using the descriptive analysis technique.

Increased nitrogen fertilization of marandu grass and protein supplementation: herbage intake, feeding behavior and digestion of nellore heifers

This study aimed to evaluate the efficiency of increased nitrogen via supplementation or fertilization in Marandu-grass pastures on the productive performance of Nellore heifers. The experiment was conducted in an area dominated by Brachiaria brizantha ‘Marandu’. Animals were randomly distributed in 16 paddocks of 0.6 ha under continuous stocking in a completely randomized design, with four repetitions and a 2 × 2 factorial design, with two doses of nitrogen and two types of supplements.

The genus Fusarium as source of the anti-leukemic enzyme l-asparaginase: adjustment of the productive conditions

The enzyme L-asparaginase is used to avoid acrylamide formation in food, and as a pharmaceutical to treat Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. As fungi are eukaryote and good enzyme producers, it is desirable to obtain a fungal L-asparaginase as an alternative to the bacterial enzymes that are currently used in the clinical practice. Glycerol use as carbon source for the metabolism of filamentous fungi is of great interest, once it can be used as a cheaper substrate for enzyme production, L-asparaginase alike, avoiding its discard in nature.

Changes in pomological and antioxidant properties of nectarine fruits (cv. fantasia) sampled from different canopy positions

The present study was conducted in Battalgazi county of Malatya Province, Turkey in order to determine the effects of fruit canopy position within the tree on pomological traits and antioxidant properties of nectarine cv. Fantasia. For this purpose, the trees were divided into four directions of north, east, west and south ant then each direction divided again into two parts as bottom and top.

Diversity and conservation status of the ichtyofauna of the haut-bandama flora and fauna reserve, (Côte D’ivoire)

The present study was carried out in the Reserve of Fauna and Flora of Haut- Bandama in order to provide data on fish diversity and conservation status in this reserve subjected to high anthropization. For this purpose, experimental samplings were conducted using sets of gillnets, traps and dip nets from February to April 2017. As results, 31 fish species belonging to 17 families and 8 orders have been identified. The most prolific orders were Perciformes with 4 families and 9 species followed by Characiformes counting 3 families and 6 species.

Influence of social and clinical factors on adherence to drug therapy in hypertensive individuals

To evaluate the therapeutic adherence of hypertensive individuals in ambulatory follow-up and its relationship with social and clinical characteristics. Method: A descriptive, quantitative and transversal study, conducted with 162 people with hypertension, in a specialized outpatient follow-up. It was applied to Morisky Medication Adherence Scale (MMAS-8). In the analysis, descriptive and inferential statistics were used. Results: Similarities were found in the adherence score between the groups in relation to gender, age, schooling, skin color, family arrangement and work situation.
