Abstract:

This article aimed to perform an analysis of data from outpatient visits before and during the pandemic period by Covid-19, at the Veterinary Hospital Joaquim Felício-CASU, in Caratinga/MG. In this way, an exploratory and descriptive study was developed of the veterinary hospital that FUNEC has to serve animals in Caratinga and region and for the teaching-learning process of students of the veterinary medicine course at UNEC. Initially, the Epidemiological Bulletins made available by the Municipality of Caratinga were analyzed, based on the collection of data from the health institutions in the region by the Health Department of Caratinga, through the Department of Epidemiology and Statistics. Then, the data from the system for recording the visits that the Hospital Veterinário Joaquim Felício-CASU has were analyzed, in order to evaluate their frequency, in addition to the evaluation of the procedures and measures taken by the hospital during the pandemic period, in the perception of the coordinator site administration. A high rate of confirmed cases was identified and increasing every week in the municipality, so due to restrictions on veterinary care, a drop in the flow of outpatient care was noticeable.
