Abstract:

Introduction: Hemophilia is a hemorrhagic and hereditary disease characterized by a deficiency of factor VIII (hemophilia A) or factor IX (hemophilia B) coagulant activity. The incentive and guidelines for self-infusion are initiated early in childhood, so that the patient loses the fear of achieving their own venous access, in addition to generating autonomy and independence of the patient. Objective: To construct an educational primer on self infusion of coagulation factor in children with hemophilia. Methodology: This is a methodological research. The construction of the primer took place in the following order: bibliographical survey, preparation of the booklet and final version. The research was carried out from June 2017 to March 2018, in Fortaleza/Ce. After the bibliographical survey and the selection of information to compose the booklet, the researcher made a sketch in the Power Point program, in order to visualize how the images and texts could be organized. Soon after, this sketch was sent to a Graphic Designer, where it improved the appearance of the book. It is believed that with the use of this material, both the patient and his family will better understand the self infusion and will be motivated to adhere to the prophylactic treatment in their homes. Finally, the relevance and importance of the construction of educational materials within the health education process, especially among patients with hemophilia, is highlighted, considering that they are tools that assist the health team in guiding patients, in order to empower them on their diagnosis andtreatment.
