Abstract:

Introduction: Intimate partner violence (IPV) also exposes children when they live with aggressive parents. Every act of violence comprises an attack on human dignity, especially against children and adolescents. Objective: The aim of this paper is to get to know and analyze the scientific evidence about the experiences of children and adolescents in the face of intimate partner violence (parents) in the domestic environment. Method: This is an Integrative Review with data from electronic databases (VHL Portal, Pubmed and PsycoInfo) from 2013 to 2017. Results: 19 articles composed this Integrative Review, confirming the diverse forms of violence practiced by intimate partners (IPV), experienced by children and adolescents, with noxious effects on psyche motional health, for living with parents assaulting each other and do not have intrinsic resources to deal with. Conclusions: There is a dearth of comprehensive and effective health policies in the care of victims, including aggressors and the family group. There is a need for government investments and multi professional actions with micro and macro social full scope, with preventive campaigns, effective resources and updated laws. There is IPV involving children regardless of gender, and the absence of dialogue between peers (couples) can mean a risk factor for victimization, occurring in the most of cases, inside home.
