The authors are commenting on the study entitled: “Bilateral central retinal vein occlusion in a 40-year-old man with severe coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID 19) pneumonia” published by Waqar et al. in Am J Case Rep 2020;21:e927691-1-e927691-5, which reported the first case of bilateral central retinal vein occlusion in a 40-year old man with severe coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pneumonia. The authors concluded that the COVID-19 pneumonia combined with hypertension and morbid obesity led him to an inflammatory state that resulted in bilateral central retinal vein occlusion.

The adsorption of ofloxacin (OFL) by the spent coffee grounds (SCGs) was investigated. The effect of solution pH and the amount of SCGs were also studied. The optimum solution pH and amount of SCGs were 6 and 100 mg, respectively. The adsorption isotherms were well described by the Henry model. This suggested that the strong interaction of OFL with the SCGs. Therefore, SCGs, as a green, environmental-friendly adsorbent, can be applied to the adsorption of contaminants in environment.

This study aims to analyze negative experiences (aggression, abuse, and mistreatment) reported by medical students during their course. It is a cross-sectional research with 218 participants. A questionnaire on aggression, abuse, and mistreatment wasused. The students also answered a questionnaire covering sociodemographic and economic data. Their average age was 23.3 years old (+3.5), and they were mostly white males. Among all students, the weighted prevalence by course year of at least one frequent occurrence (five times or more) of aggression, abuse or mistreatment was 40.8%.

This article aims to make a survey of the referring academic production to the articles that deal with the subject Business Model in the perspective of the Integrated Reporting, and to present a theoretical scene on the subject by means of a critical analysis of the identified contents. One is about an exploratory, bibliometric research, carried out by means of systematic revision of the literature published in the scientific databases national and internationally recognized. As a result, it was observed that the most prolific authors are the Italians and the South Africans.

The present study was carried out in an agroforestry system (SAF) with the objective of evaluating the physiological aspects of plant growth and the nutritional status of Juçara Palms. The forest stand was made up of blocks at random, with five treatments and four replications, in the scheme of subdivided plots, which constituted the treatments. Each plot was composed of 100 trees, 100 palm trees and 200 coffee trees, distributed in 10 lines with 10 trees, 10 palm trees and 20 coffee trees.

O estudo objetivou identificar os motivos da insatisfação de avós de recém-nascidos com o atendimento recebido em unidades de saúde vinculadas ao Sistema Único de Saúde. Pesquisa de caráter qualitativo e descritivo, que teve como participantes 15 mulheres avós com faixa etária entre 60 e 91 anos de idade, cadastradas em uma associação de amigos/grupos de convivência e Universidade Aberta com a Terceira Idade, todas identificadas com codinomes de pedras preciosas.

A morte materna está associada a complicações que podem ocorrer durante o período gravídico e puerperal. O estudo teve como objetivo geral analisar o perfil epidemiológico da mortalidade materna no Nordeste no período de 2014 a 2018. E, como objetivos específicos: caracterizar a mortalidade materna quanto as variáveis epidemiológicas; averiguar os aspectos demográficos da mortalidade materna no Nordeste; identificar a mortalidade materna proporcional por causas diretas e indiretas e determinar a razão da mortalidade materna em todo o Nordeste.

A doença de chagas (DC) é uma infecção causada pelo Trypanosoma cruzi, que infecta o homem por diferentes formas. Trata-se de uma doença negligenciada, propagada em diversas regiões do mundo, e que continua sendo um desafio para a saúde pública, uma vez que o acesso à saúde e seus meios diagnósticos ainda é limitado, assim como ao tratamento. O objetivo deste estudo foi analisar as principais formas clínicas da DC crônica, bem como complicações existentes nestes quadros.

This study in vitro evaluated the effect of non-thermal atmospheric plasma on the bond strength (BS) of a universal adhesive to human enamel, with or without acid etching when subjected to aging. Forty proximal enamel surfaces were randomly assigned to 4 groups according to acid etching (37% phosphoric acid) and plasma treatment (applied for 20 seconds by scanning mode). Afterwards, Scothbond Universal Adhesive was applied, and a composite resin block was built up. After 24 hours of storage, the specimens were sectioned into sticks.
