In recent decades, rapid technological advances—ranging from automation and digital pathology to artificial intelligence (AI) and point-of-care testing (POCT)—have transformed the laboratory landscape. This systematic review investigates the evolving role of clinical laboratories in improving patient care through innovative technologies and practices.

O presente estudo teve como escopo analisar a forma como o desempenho financeiro das empresas brasileiras, provenientes de setores econômicos que abriram o capital em 2020, foram afetadas pelo IPO. A partir de uma amostra de dados provenientes da B3 (durante o período de 2020 a 2021- período de recessão determinado pelo Covid-19) pertencentes a empresas que realizam IPO no ano de 2020, o estudo faz uso da abordagem econométrica GMM para atingir ao objetivo da pesquisa.

Histopancreatic Architecture in Diabetes Mellitus Wistar rats Treated with Extract of Beetroot

This study assessed the effects of Aqueous Beetroot extract on the pancreas of diabetes mellitus Wistar rats by evaluating histo-architecture. Thirty male Wistar rats, aged 8 to 10 weeks and weighing 160-200 g, were divided into five groups: A-normal control, B-diabetic only, C-diabetic treated with beetroot, D-diabetic treated with metformin, and E-beetroot extract only. Diabetes was induced via a single intraperitoneal injection of streptozotocin (STZ) at a dose of 70 mg/kg.

Obstetric Morbidity among Santals and Bengali women of Puruliya, West Bengal: A Comparative Study

The objective of the present study was to compare the obstetric health outcomes and care practices between Santal, a Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Bengali women (referred as Non-ST hereafter) across antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum periods. A total of 800 study participants were selected by purposive sampling method. All the data were collected by using pretested question naires and universally accepted methods and techniques. Results showed significant population differences in many demographic and socioeconomic variables.

Performed and Unperformed Activities of the Assessment phase of the Nursing Process by Nurses of the Regional Hospital Bamenda

Assessment is the first step of the nursing process. It is performed by nurses when patients are admitted, within a maximum of 8hours for stable patients and 24hours for unstable patients. Sometimes, the activities of this phase are well performed. In other times, the performance might not be satisfactory. The objective of this study was to identify the activities of the assessment phase that are regularly/irregularly performed by nurses. Convenience sampling method was used with 80participants. Instruments for data collection were a questionnaire and checklist.

Scrub typhus infection Presenting as Pancerebellar Ataxia

Pancerebellar ataxia is a syndrome characterised by bilateral signs of cerebellar dysfunction involving trunk, limb and cranial musculature. We describe an adult female presenting with this syndrome following a febrile illness diagnosed as scrub typhus fever. Since majority of the cases of cerebellitis has been described in children, we highlight this case where the patient presented with an acute onset of tremulousness, imbalance and instability involving all the limbs and trunk, with ocular signs on examination.

Background/Objectives: The study aimed to evaluate the changes in the salivary and plaque pH after the consumption of three types of milk — high protein milk, full-fat milk, and sweetened condensed milk. Method: The study population comprised 75 children aged 6-10 years and were divided into groups of 25 each. Children participating in the studyrefrained from brushing their teeth, eating, or drinking for at least 2 hours before the experiment. Salivary and plaque pH were recorded at baseline (t0). Each child then consumed 20 mL of one of the three types of milk.

Background: Guided bone regeneration (GBR) is a well-established surgical technique in implant dentistry, aiming to promote new bone formation in deficient alveolar ridges. The method relies on barrier membranes and bone graft materials to exclude soft tissue invasion and enhance osteogenesis. Objective: This systematic review aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of different biomaterials used in GBR associated with dental implant placement, highlighting clinical outcomes and complications.

Socio-Cognitive Goskolo (Alcohol) Binge Drinking Behaviour Model: A Qualitative study of Youths in jos Metropolis, Plateau State, Nigeria

This grounded theory study aimed to explore the factors influencing Goskolo binge drinking behavior among youths in Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria, and to examine the associated negative effects. Using semi-structured interviews, the study employed a purposive sampling technique to select 23 participants, including both male and female youths aged 18-30 who were identified as regular Goskolo drinkers.
