The safety and efficacy of tibb pharmacotherapy

Pharmacotherapy is a traditional healing paradigm based mainly on herbs, with numerous pharmacopeia being compiled over the centuries. It was the dominant therapeutic option until superseded by modern chemical-based conventional drug therapy. As it is now experiencing a revival for reasons, such as better patient tolerance, more information is required on the mode of action and clinical efficacy of herbal remedies.

Perception of students about interdisciplinarity as a method of teaching

The graduation in Higher Education in the field of health presents a pedagogical model with a view to directing the professionals for the specialization of the precocius form contemplanting in its formation a biologist model. In this context,the interdisciplinarity presents the possibility of enhancing knowledge and contemplating not only the scientific knowledge and technological advances, but also the wide range of possibilities in which the health area needs. In this sense, the objective of the study was to understand the students' perception of interdisciplinarity as a teaching method.

Characteristics of the dynamics of indicators of the central nervous system and functions of attention of the workers of shoe production

The aim: The study of changes in the functional state of the central nervous system, the stability of the function of attention occurring in the dynamics of the working day. Material and methods: Correction tables were used, chronoreflexometry was performed. A widely used technique for studying the conditioned-motor reaction of Ivanov-Smolensky with preliminary verbal instruction was used. The attention function was studied by using proof samples. Used tables with settled text, according to Whipple's formula, actual performance was calculated.

Comparison of clinical findings with the radiographics in temporomandibular dysfunction in patients with rheumatoid arthritis

Objective: To compare the clinical findings using the Fonseca and Helkimo indices with panoramic radiographic findings in patients with and without a diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis. Materials and methods: The research was approved by the ethics committee in research with the number 2.234.767, composed of 30 patients. The patients were divided into three groups, two of which were: rheumatoid arthritis patients using biological drugs (n = 9) or synthetic drugs (n = 13) and control group (n = 8).

Evaluation of temporomandibular dysfunction in patients with diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis

To investigate the presence of temporomandibular joint dysfunction in patients with and without a diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis, by analyzing the relationship between the variables by means of the Craniomandibular index, questionnaire of the American association of orofacial pain and questionnaire and index of functional limitation of the mandible. Materials and methods: The study was approved by the Ethics Committee in research, numbered 2.234.767, composed of 91 patients, divided into three groups.

Total and posterior corneal shape changes after temporal versus nasal clear corneal incision cataract surgery

Aim To compare changes in the shape and astigmatism of the total and posterior cornea between eyes with a nasal clear corneal incision (CCI) and eyes with a temporal CCI in cataract surgery. Methods The left eyes of 100 patients undergoing phacoemulsification were randomly assigned to undergo a 2.4 mm nasal (nasal CCI group) or temporal CCI (temporal CCI group). Corneal astigmatic changes were compared between groups using power vector analysis,and corneal shape changes were compared using videokeratography maps at 2 days, and at 2, 4 and 8weeks postoperatively.

Production of care related to drug use: perception of medical and nursing professors

The topic of “drugs” has been studied by several sectors especially society, education,and health. This study aims to understand the perception of undergraduate Nursing and Medicine teachers about care related to drug use in the context of social and health policies. This is phenomenological research, according to the perspective of Maurice Merleau-Ponty, carried out from November 2015 to May 2016, with ten teachers, through a semi-structured interview.

Protein-energy malnutrition during the first five years of life

One hundared child age 2month-5years who admitted to almansur children teaching hospital were suffering from protein energy malnutriton, analysis of the various aspects of P.E.M was done, ninty four percent of the cases were in the first and second year age group. Marasmus was more prevalant which formed 49% of the total number of the cases while under weight type of malnutrition produced 29%of the cases. Kwashirkor and marasmic kwashirkor was formed 22% of the cases which represent high percent in comparison to prevous studies. Bottle feeding was the major cause of P.E.M.

Knowledge of nurses and physicians of the intensive care unit about sepsis

Sepsis can be defined by the presence of a life-threatening organic dysfunction secondary to the host's unregulated response to infection. This article aims to analyze the knowledge of nurses and physicians of the intensive care unit about sepsis. This is a descriptive study with a quantitative approach, carried out with seven nurses and five physicians of an adult intensive care unit. It was evidenced in the study the predominance of male professionals, aged between 25 and 35 years, who only had the undergraduate course.
