Effect of cnidoscolus urens (l.) arthur methanolic extract on virulence attributes of candida albicans sensu stricto

Candida albicans is one of the most prevalent pathogenic fungi worldwide and in recent decades has shown resistance to azoles and echinocandins. Therefore, the search for therapeutic alternatives is necessary in order to combat infections caused by this fungus. This study evaluated the chemical composition and the effects of Cnidoscolus urens methanolic extract, derived from the plant latex, on virulence attributes of C. albicans. The ability of the methanolic extract of C.

The objective of the present study is to analyze the influence of the COVID-19 pandemic on the menstrual cycle, from the evaluation of biological and psychosocial factors of women who contracted the disease compared to those who did not. A cross-sectional study was carried out with data collected through an online questionnaire that was self-completed by the participants. A total of 113 university students were included in the study, all of them of childbearing age and during the pandemic period.

Optimization of somatic embryogenesis in coffea canephora

Plant tissue culture allows the clonal propagation of Coffea canephora on a large scale through somatic embryogenesis. The aim of this study was to optimize the conditions for the induction of somatic embryogenesisin leaves of the Robusta variety. The physiological stage of the leaves – drain or source; the use of the surrounding area ofprimary or secondary veins; and the position of the explants – abaxial or adaxial surface in contact with the culture medium were evaluated.

Induction of somatic embryos in robusta and conilon varieties of coffea canephora

Clonal propagation of Coffea canephora varieties is feasible through somatic embryogenesis. The aim of this study was to evaluate the induction of somatic embryos from leaves of C. canephora, Robusta and Conilon varieties, in relation to different concentrations of three growth regulators. The explants were inoculated in a MS culture medium with 2iP (isopentanyladenine), IBA (indolebutyric acid) and BA (6-benzylaminopurine), in factorial combinations, at concentrations of 1.0; 2.0; 3.0; 4.0 and 5.0 mg L-1.

AND Exercise tolerance; Obesity AND Exercise Capacity; Obesity AND Functional Capacity; Obesity AND Cardiovascular Capacity.

Indicators of fecal pollution in streams located in the itaqui-bacanga District, São Luís, Maranhão, Brazil

Escherichia coli is a pathogenic microorganism that can be introduced into the human body through contaminated water and food, causing gastrointestinal or urinary tract infections, being a bioindicator of water quality and risk to human health. The aim of the present research was to analyze the water quality of streams located in the Itaqui-Bacanga district using bacteriological indicators and establish a correlation between cause and effect considering the housing conditions, sanitation, healthcare aspects of local residents.
