The programme of measures to prevent flooding on the built-up areas on example of Kharkiv city

The paper treats the issue concerned with flooding the urban territories of Ukraine. Large Ukrainian cities are characterized by systematically increasing the groundwater level in built-up areas and expanding areas of flooding. Additional groundwater replenishment is growing together with leaks volume. There are 60% of leaks in some regions. Today in Ukraine, engineering methods are staying the basic measures of flooding prevention and harm reduction of this phenomenon.

Study of tqm and six sigma concept for construction

The manufacturing industry has developed Total Quality Management (TQM) concepts, first applied in Japan and in recent years used in the United States, which have increased productivity, decreased product cost and improved product reliability. TQM focuses on process improvement, customer and supplier involvement, teamwork, and training and education in an effort to achieve customer satisfaction, cost effectiveness, and defect-free work. TQM provides the culture and climate essential for innovation and for technology advancement.

Spontaneous clustering algorithm for speech recognition and document recommendation

Speech recognition is emerging as a contemporary research topic wherein many studies are conducted to optimize the efficiency of speech recognition and thereafter, suggest relevant documents, texts or any other source of information required by the users. With many real world applications, clustering can be efficiently used for the purpose of speech recognition and recommendation system. Many theories and algorithms have been proposed so far with n gram approach, DNN based system etc.

Cashew and apple nectars: Brazilian consumers can trust in labels?

Apple and cashew nectars are well accepted by Brazilian consumers and promise important sources of bioactive compounds. The aim of this study was to determine the physicochemical characteristics of cashew and apple nectars of different brands and compare them with Brazilian Legislation. Analysis was made in triplicate for pH, Brix, acidity, ascorbic acid, anthocyanin, the ratio of total solids to citric acid in the case of cashew nectars, and to malic acid in apple nectars and total carbohydrate content.

Development of biotechnology of dye & drug plant indigofera variety «feruz -1» for the improving of saline lands of the aral sea basin

The possibility of developing of biotechnology and agrotechnology of indigofera plants in ecologically salted and degraded lands of the Aral Sea region was studied. A new salt-resistant variety of indigofera “Feruz-1” and its agrotechnology of cultivation and biotechnology for obtaining of drug & dye pigment indigo has been developed. Quantitative and qualitative HPLC method of determination of indigo dye has been developed.

Effect ofplant growth regulators on micropropagation and rooting of the regenerated plant-lets derived from wheat (triticum aestivum l.) embryogenic callus

A simple method was developed for direct shoot regeneration of wheat (Triticumaestivum L.). Various types of plant growth regulators singly or in combinations were investigated. Regenerated plantlets from wheat embryogenic callus were placed in MS medium supplemented with different types and concentrations of growth regulators.

Interaction of plasma medium with electromagnetic waves

The electrical properties of plasma are important in applications of electromagnetic are the conductivity, electrical permittivity and magnetic permeability. With these parameters known, propagation of electromagnetic waves in plasma can be inspected thoroughly. Since ions and electrons are the constituents of plasma, interaction of electromagnetic waves with the plasma can be formulated by starting from the behavior of a single charged particle under the effect of an electromagnetic wave. Throughout this paper, theory of interaction of electromagnetic waves with plasmas is introduced.

Spectrophotometric determination of chromium in water, rice and vegetable samples

Chromium (VI) has been determined with 1,5-diphenylcarbazide under conditions like pH = 1.65; the ratio of nDPC/(nCr(VI)) = 2.18 (by mol); The calibration curve for determination of chromium was also established as A = (0.8324 ± 0.00901).CCr + (0.0086 ± 0.00506). The total chromium in the water, rice and water spinach was analyzed. The obtained results of chromium concentrations in these samples showed that the samples were not polluted by chromium.

Hydropower dam impact on the environment and livelihood in the Mekong river basin

Hydropower is a renewable energy source, but can have huge impacts on freshwater ecosystems, fisheries, and flood dependent agriculture. New hydropower dams have already threatened some of the world’s most ecologically diverse river basins such as the Amazon, the Zambezi and the Mekong. They may partially dehydrate the landscapes and influence the surface and the groundwater systems. River dynamics may suffer major modifications, particularly in runoff distribution change.
