Effect of immobilization and anaesthesia on certain haemato-biochemical parameters in asiatic lions (panthera leo persica)

The study was conducted to assess the impact of chemical immobilization and anaesthesia on certain haematological and biochemical parameters in Asiatic lions intended for diagnostic and surgical procedure. The impact of anaesthetic and ancillary drugs was studied in 8 Asiatic and hybrid lions (Panthera leo persica) in 12 trials.

Integrated simplified kundalini yoga for improving mental health in teachers

The purpose of the study was to find out the impact of simplified kundalini yoga practices among the mental health of the teachers. It was hypothesized that there would be significant differences on the mental health due to the effect of simplified kundalini yoga practices among the teacher. For the present study the 20 female teachers from Coimbatore district, Tamilnadu were selected at random and their age ranged from 38 to 55 years. The subjects of all 20 underwent simplified kundalini yoga practices.

Seasonal linkages of electric energy water nexus in electricity industry – an empirical analysis

The fast growing demand for fresh water-coupled with the need to protect the environment has made many areas of India and the rest of the World vulnerable to water shortages for various uses of the economy. As they interact with Electricity Industry, water availability is critical to power generation. Without access to adequate amounts of water for steam generation and cooling, power plants that rely on heat energy to generate electricity cannot operate. Seasonal anomalies in water systems and electricity production are inextricably linked.

System health management of safety critical systems using artificial neural networks

Safety critical systems are the systems which defines the safety and monitors the system performance based on some safety criterions. A system health management (SHM) system monitors the safety critical system while it is in operation, and thus is able to detect faults, as soon as they occur. In this paper we propose an approach to determine the system health using artificial neural network. Unmanned Aerial Vehicle is used as a case study to demonstrate the SHM approach using ANN.

Differences between software and web based systems development

It has been found that the conventional software engineering models such as for example Waterfall model, Prototyping, Incremental, Spiral, Rational Unified process (RUP) and Extreme programming (XP) cannot be used directly or not applicable for the development of web based systems (Kumar and Sangwan 2011). This is because Web applications have unique characteristics that make Web development different and more difficult than traditional software development. In this paper, the reasons of why software development methodologies failed in developing web based systems will be shown.

Determinants of attitude of rural youth towards agriculture as means of livelihood

Agriculture sector plays a pivotal role in the economic development of the country. In spite of this, rural youth faced challenges regarding livelihood. As a result, they often prefer to migrate to urban areas to take up low paying jobs. The present study was focused on the determinants of attitude of rural youth towards agriculture as a means of livelihood. The study was conducted in four villages of Uttarakhand. Data was collected from 115 rural youth through interview schedule.

Adoption of selected agricultural innovations, technology and improved/modern farm practices and their relationship with socio – economic characteristics in a rural block in West Bengal, India

Farming community is at a crucial state of transformation both in farming activities as well as in their social life. Farm power and material possession show a clear indication of such change. Nuclear family concept is evident. Draught animals raring are also going to be diminished. Irrigation and pest management equipment are found plenty. Bullock cart is totally extinct instead they are using Tricycle Van and Tractor drawn Trolley as means of conveyance of farm articles. Possession of Mobile Telephone, Bicycle, Television are most common.

Allelopathic effect of extracts of medicinal plant on mungbean (vigna radiata l. wilczek) in vitro conditions

The allelopathic effect of medicinal leaf extracts of Ocimum sanctum L., Calotropis procera(Ait.) Ait.f and Astragalus tribuloides Delile on the radical length of mungbean (Vigna radiata L. Wilczek) in Vitro conditions. The results indicated that different extracts such as alcoholic, aqueous acidic and alkaline extract of Ocimum sanctum L., Calotropis procera(Ait.) Ait.f and Astragalus tribuloides Delile showed different radical length of mungbean in Vitro conditions. Alcoholic extract of Ocimum sanctum L. showed highest radical effect in comparison of other extracts.
