Effectiveness of centralized mid day meal programme on the nutritional status of children of Ekalbara Village, Rural Vadodara

Background: Akshay Patra served mid day meal is implemented in both urban and rural Vadodara since November, 2009 to improve the acceptability of the programme as well as its health and nutritional impact. 
Aim: To conduct a situational analysis of MDM served through Akshay Patra and its impact on the nutritional status of children in rural area of Vadodara district. 

Assessment of patient safety culture in the gaza strip hospitals

Culture is described as a critical element of healthcare safety and quality. This study aims to assess a patient safety culture in GS hospitals.A cross-sectional, descriptive design was utilized. A total number of 376 clinical and non-clinical hospitals’ staff participated in the current study. Data were collected using an Arabic version of the Hospital Survey on Patient Safety Culture (HSOPSC). The study data was evaluated using the SPSS for Windows 20.0. Dimensional- and item-level positive scores were used for results reporting.

Detecting dynamic spatiotemporal land use change in linbian watershed, Taiwan after typhoon morakot

On 8th August 2009, the extreme rainfall of typhoon Morakot dumped record breaking rain in southern Taiwan.  The typhoon significantly changed landscape patterns in Linbian Township, Pingtung County, in the southern part of Taiwan. Land use/land cover changes and the direct and indirect effects of these changes have drawn much public attention. This study aims at detecting typhoon Morakot induced land use changes and the dynamic landscape structure changes between 2006 and 2012. Three images from Formosat-2 satellite with resolution of 8 m were used for land use change detection.

The thirst of central highland in Vietnam

Central Highland is one of the driest regions in Vietnam. Extended dry spells linked to El Nino phenomenon have raised serious concerns and often affects the local economy and livelihood of local residents. The main objective of this study is to assess causes of this worsening drought problem and to suggest possible solutions for alleviating this problem. In recent years, the exploitation of excess water sources for growing high cash crops such as coffee has caused a serious imbalance between surface water and groundwater.

Factors affecting adoption of fertilizers by farmers in Khartoum state, Sudan

This study was conducted to assess factors affecting fertilizers adoption in Khartoum State of Sudan. A random sampling procedure was used to select 60 respondents. Data were collected through structured interview schedule. Descriptive analysis, Inter-correlation and multiple regression analysis techniques were adopted. The results emphasized that the adoption of fertilizers depends on availability of information about fertilizers, capital, social participation and farm size.

Adoption of new technologies of horticulture to farmar’s of jamtara and Dumka Districts of Jharkhand province in India

To increase the livelihood security of the poor tribal farmer of Jamtara and Dumka ditricts the horticulture technologies like, 1) Off season vegetable cultivation, 2) Year round vegetable production from 10 decimal area 3) One acre multi tier cropping were implemented and 4) vertical cultivation of vine vegetables (pointed gourd) successfully introduced through NAIP project launched by BAU, Ranchi and HARP, plandu as one of the consortium partner.

Fuzzy assessment for water quality in inanam likas river basin, Sabah, East of Malaysia

Water Quality Index is an important water assessment that sustain and conserve the aquatic ecosystem. In Malaysia, the current classification practice on Department of Environmental Water Quality Index (DOE WQI) shoes rigid value in term of assessing the input of parameters that close to a class boundary. Hence, this study proposed a technique to assess the parameters in a holistic manner by using the Fuzzy Inference System (FIS).

Present study deals with the bioconversion of vermicomposted weed plants waste using Eudrilus eugeniae Kinberg for promoting the growth of Brinjal (Solanum melongena) preparation of weed plants waste vermicompost and its physico chemical parameters were analyzed, enumeration of microorganisms bacteria, fungi and actinomyces from vermicompost, preparation of vermiwash and vermicompost extract and its physico chemical parameters were analyzed, growth parameters and biochemical characteristics also studied of Brinjal.

Seasonal employment: A study of agricultural laborers in Punjab, India

This study analyses the employment status of agricultural laborers in Bathinda district of Punjab. It presents the major activities of agricultural laborers in farm and non-farm sector. The lack of employment opportunities in agriculture during off season compelled the agricultural laborers to seek alternative employment sources like construction work, National Rural Employed Guarantee Act (NREGA) etc. In spite of it, the harsh reality is that the condition of Agriculture Labors (especially non-regular) is miserable.
