The evolution of the old-age dependency ratio over time and its challenges in mato grosso – Brazil

Foundation: The world population is undergoing profound changes in its age distribution, impacting the labor market and health policies for the elderly. Goal: To analyze the aging trend in Mato Grosso, from 1980 to 2020 and its challenges in the labor market. Method: Time-series ecological study of the following indicators on aging in Mato Grosso: Population aging index (IEP) and Old-age dependency ratio (RDI). The source of demographic information was the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE).

Association between maxillary sinusitis and periapical diseases: a systematic review

Objectives: The purpose of this study was tosystematically evaluate the evidence on the association between maxillary sinusitis and periapicaldiseases. Methods: An electronic search were performed of the Cochrane Library, PubMed, Embase and LILACS databases up to September 2020. The gray literature was also searched. Additional studies sought through hand searching of endodontic journals. Observational studies associating maxillary sinusitis with periapical diseases, diagnosed by radiography and/or computed tomography/CBCT were included.

Introduction: Common Mental Disorders (CMD) are consideredclinically significant conditions characterized by depression, bipolar affective disorder, schizophrenia, dementia, intellectual disability and developmental disorders, including autism. The most prevalent symptomsare: insomnia, fatigue, forgetfulness, irritability, concentration difficulties, somatic complaints and feelings of worthlessness, which universally affect people of all ages, genders and in all countries, representing 13% of all diseases and reaching about 700 million of people in the world.

Validity and reproducibility of methods and variables telerehabilitation instruments for static postural assessment: a scoping review

The objective of this scoping review was to identify, examine and describe the instruments used to assess static body posture through telerehabilitation, whose measurement properties are described. Due to the pandemic, it has become common to carry out postural assessments remotely, as a different approach to face-to-face assessments has become necessary. The review was performed according to the steps recommended by the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) and the PRISMA-ScR method for scoping review. The Pubmed, Embase and Scopus databases were searched during March and April 2022.

O estresse oxidativo esta presente em diversas doenças inflamatórias. Dentre as mesmas destaca-se a diabetes mellitus, conhecida pela glicemia elevada e associação com desenvolvimento de síndromes metabólicas no indivíduo. Tendo em vista o impacto da diabetes mellitus na sociedade e economia mundial, torna-se relevante revisar estudos que abordem as vias desreguladas nesta doença. Dentro deste contexto, o desequilíbrio das espécies reativasleva a modificações nas membranas celulares, bem como ligação e perda de função de marcromoléculas como DNA e proteínas intracelulares.

Pain relief as a potential tool in palliative care: A holistic and multidisciplinary analysis

Introduction: This study addresses proposals related to pain as an analysis tool and vital sign, as well as the participation and importance of the multidisciplinary team in full participation in the development of comfort measures at the end of life. As an Objective: The study aims to recognize the importance of the participation of interdisciplinary team members in an active way in the patient in palliative care. Method: this is an integrative review thet allows the search, critical evaluation and synthesis of available evidence on the topic addressed.

Considerando que traumas dos membros são comuns na prática, o curso de medicina da UNIFAL-MG ofertou uma disciplina optativa com essa temática. Objetivos: relatar as experiências e atividades desenvolvidas durante a disciplina optativa “Bases anatomoclínicas, ortopédicas e diagnóstico por imagem dos membros superiores e inferiores”.

The contribution of electrotherapy to rehabilitation of children with obstetric brachial plexus palsy

Background: Obstetric brachial plexus palsy (OBPP) is the palsy of some part or the whole of the upper limb that occurs in the newborn during a difficult delivery. OBP results from injury to the cervical roots C5–C8 and thoracic root T1 with <1% of births. Purpose: The purpose of the review is to investigate the effectiveness of electrotherapy in combination with standard rehabilitation programs in the rehabilitation of OBPP. Method: A search in online databases, through search engines as Pub-med, PEDro and Google Scholar, was conducted.

During the application of this tool it is necessary to follow a defined sequence of steps and to establish quantified objectives.
