Investigations on anticancer and antibacterial activities of zinc oxide nanoparticles

A facile and economical precipitation method was adopted to synthesise zinc oxide nanoparticles. The crystallography and optical properties of  as synthesised nanoparticles were studied using X-ray diffraction, UV-Visible spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and the morphology of the nanoparticles were revealed via Scanning electron microscopy. The as synthesized nanoparticles were found to be remarkable in inhibiting both gram positive and gram negative pathogenic bacteria.

Structural and optical studies of zno nanorods prepared of nanorods prepared by hydrothermal method

Zinc oxide (ZnO), a representative of II–VI semiconductor compounds, is a very versatile and important material. ZnO has a unique position among semiconducting oxides due to its piezoelectric and transparent conducting properties. It has a high electrical conductivity and optical transmittance in the visible region. Zinc oxide (ZnO) has extensive commercial use during the past 100 years. It has useful optical, chemical and electrical properties, and is nontoxic, inexpensive and chemically stable.

Oum v0.1: Mind controlled robotic arm

The field of Robotics is growing fast in order to make the people’s life efficient and easy. There are various machines or robots designed and manufactured in this particular field to help the handicapped people facing the problems like blindness, broken legs or arms, body part dislocation etc. As, there are limitations in the robotic works, the people are focusing on more accuracy provided by robots. The mind controlled robotic arm (OUM v0.1) is the next step in order to achieve more accuracy.

Structural and electrical behavior of tin doped ba0.6sr0.4tio3 thin films

(Ba, Sr)TiO3 (BST) thin films doped with Tin were coated by sol-gel method on quartz and stainless steel substrates. The results of X-ray diffraction and FE-SEM analysis had shown that the grain size of BST thin films decreases with dopant concentration. Dielectric properties were investigated as a function of frequency. The dielectric constant and dielectric loss of BST thin films decreases with dopant concentration and was explained by electro negativity and oxygen vacancy factors. The retendivity of the specimen decreases while the coercive force increases with dopant concentration.

Synthesis and corrosion study of borophosphate glasses

Borophosphate glasses of composition 30Na2O - (60-y) B203 - yP205 -10 Al203 were prepared with the help of melt quench technique and studied the effect of corrosion on it. Polished samples of the borophosphate glass of various compositions were used for experiment. The glasses were characterized using XRD for their structural study. The polished samples of the borophosphate glass samples of various compositions 30NaO - (60-y) B2O3 - yP2O5 – 10 Al2O3 were exposed to 10% HCI and 10% NaOH separately at room temperatures for 24, 48 and 72 hrs.

Status of tribal Women in Odisha

Tribals are the indigenous people who live in the lap of the nature, and depend on natural resources for their livelihood constitute the major segment of Indian society. Odisha is the home to 62 distinct tribal groups out of which 13 communities are declared as primitive tribes. The state has the third highest tribal population in the country. As the tribal dominated areas are endowed with rich minerals both national and international organizations are attracted towards these areas thus once peaceful area have tuned into battle ground.

Secure watermarking techniques for image authentication using SVD

Digital watermarking is a practice that involves implanting furtive statistics into a host image and extorted out afterward for tenure confirmation. Execution plus concert examination of three diverse methods based on Discrete Wavelet Transform, Discrete Cosine Transform and Singular Value Decomposition are carried out. To verify efficiency of all these schemes for invisibility plus durability, various constraints are taken into consideration.

Speed controller of bldc motor using dspic30f4011 processor approach

Traditionally inexpensive analog components are used for the design purposes of Motor drives. The weakness of analog systems is their susceptibility to temperature variations and component aging. Another drawback is the difficulty of upgrading the systems. Digital control structures eliminate drifts and, by using a programmable controller, the upgrades can be easily accomplished by software. The high performance of digital signal controllers allows them to perform high-resolution control and minimize control loop delays.

Shinde, Celastrus paniculatus; medicinal and pharmacological properties: a review

Celastrus paniculatus Wild.mentioned in Ayurveda as ‘Tree of life’, a plant belonging to family Celastraceae was in use from time immemorial to treat brain related disorders and to enhance learning and memory. The Jyotishmati oil extracted from the seeds of C. paniculatus is known to have effect on Central Nervous System.  C. paniculatus shows many activities along with main activity i.e memory enhancing effect. Its reported activities are antiviral, antibacterial, insecticidal, anti-inflammatory, antispermatogenic, sedative, anti-fatigue and analgesic, hipolipidemic.

Cured leprosy: Eyes are still in dark!

Some Leprotic eye lesions are reported to be progressive in nature even after mycobacterial cure. During last 3 years 980 cured leprosy patients were examined of which 120 patients were followed up every year (2011,2012,2013) Results: 1% per increase in leprosy related eye lesion (Lagophthalmos, keratitis, posterior synechia). 2.5% increase in significant cataract (VA<6/18) 1.5% patients developed ocular morbidity and 0.6%cases became blind.
