Deep learning approaches for facial expression recognition

Recent studies point to the increasing importance of facial expression recognition (FER) in different application areas like healthcare and assistive technologies. Among these, computational diagnosis and evaluation of mental or facial diseases, machine-assisted rehabilitation, clinical psychology and psychiatry, pain monitoring, can be highlighted. FER also plays a relevant role in the case of diagnosis or assessment of cognitive impairments, such as autism and schizophrenia. The literature shows that FER systems effectively working in a health setting is still an open research problem.

Fatores influenciadores na adesão à vacina contra o papilomavírus humano em meninos escolares

O objetivo do presente estudo foi analisar os fatores que influenciam à adesão à vacina contra o Papilomavírus Humano em meninos escolares. Trata-se de um estudo do tipo transversal e analítico. A população de estudo foi composta por 43 meninos e 43 pais/responsáveis. Inicialmente realizou-se a tabulação dos dados.

Containers sizing to storage construction and demolition (c&d) waste in buildings method proposal

The main objective of this work is to present a method proposal for containers sizing aimed to the storage and transport of C&D wastes at construction sites. For this, a survey of the main containers used for storage of different types of waste was carried out and the sizing of the containers was performed through a case study that was applied to residential buildings. Results of the generation estimate per pavement identified the predominance of 24.49 m³ (0.078m³/m²) of mortar, concrete and ceramic waste (class A) at the structure and sealing phases.

Mechanism of waste management in schools and its effect on student participation in education

Waste management is pausing challenges to the environment especially in schools world over. In schools, water, sanitation and hygiene do not reflect national policies aspirations and are not adequate to student’s needs and hence affecting their health, well-being, performance and participation at school.

Challenges experienced by health professionals who acted on the front line to combat covid-19

This article aims to describe the challenges experienced by health professionals who worked on the front line in combating the pandemic from COVID-19. Methodology: Review of narrative literature that searched articles in two databases of the Virtual Health Library website — Latin American and Caribbean Literature on Health Sciences (Lilacs) and Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO), as well as data provided by SAMU -CE regarding the low number of professionals between 2020 and 2021.

Stratégie de sélection et d'occupation des gîtes de larviposition chez les glossines riveraines (diptera: glossinidae) au Burkina Faso

Les mécanismes de sélection des sites de larviposition des glossines sauvages sont encore peu connus. Des enquêtes longitudinales d’identification des gîtes potentiels de larvipositionont été réalisées au niveau de la galerie forestière, en février 2019 et en janvier 2020. Tous les sites ont été géoréférencés afin de connaitre le statut temporaire ou permanent des gîtes. Les émergences des pupes collectées ont été suivies au laboratoire. Les glossines émergées ont été identifiée sur la base des caractères morphologiques.

Financing operations for coffee commercialization on the covid-19 pandemic period: analysis on Brazilian coffee producers

Currently, the coffee consumption has grown exponentially around the world. According to the Brazilian Coffee Industry Association – ABIC’s report (2020), coffee is an agricultural product of great importance for the Brazilian’s and also to the local industry.According to the United States Department of Agriculture –USDA (2020), Brazil is leader in coffee production, including diverse and variant coffees.The consumption figures showed that, despite the economic crisis generated by the pandemic period, which affected several sectors in 2020, the demand for coffee continued its growth rate.

Evaluation of zygomatic implants that had been installed for periods ranging between 7 and 12 years: a study with human beings

The atrophic maxilla has characteristics, that can make it difficult to perform rehabilitation with osseointegrated implants. One of the ways to rehabilitate this patient is placement of zygomatic implants in the posterior region of the maxilla, which would support a total prosthesis. Although this technique has been used since the 1990s, the literature has shown few data on the preservation of these implants.

Perspectives of paralympic coaches on training, qualification and career

The objectives of this study were to analyze the professional training in physical education of coaches since its beginning and what are the perspectives of training and career. The study participants were Brazilian coaches medaled in the summer Paralympic Games in athletics and swimming. Fourteen coaches participated in the study - nine working in swimming and five in athletics; all male, graduated in physical education, ten have graduate degrees, aged between 28 and 54 years old, and held positions from 1 to 31 years old.
