The IDF equation is widely used in several engineering areas to estimate rainfall intensities with a specific duration and frequency. These equations can be adjusted based on the series of pluviographic records or by the disaggregation of daily rain in shorter duration rains. In the present study, a survey of the IDF equations published in Brazil was carried out in 118 different types of publications. Until 2010, 634 IDF equations were registered, predominantly (61%) generated by pluviographic data.

This study contributes theoretically, from empirical experiences, to the construction of correspondence practices between designers and artisans from a maroon community, Itamatatiua, in Alcântara, (Maranhão-Brazil). We propose the establishment of a ‘common plan’ to design by means of anthropology, thus we present parameters that help constitute this proposal.

This work is the result of a proposal for activities involving Unplugged Robotics, applied to the educational context, for a class of the 4th year of elementary school. The objective was to analyze how this resource can encourage and guide the stages of learning in an interdisciplinary perspective, reusing everyday materials, which would possibly be discarded. The practice developed was based on competencies and skills from the National Common Curricular Base, based on the theme of socio-environmental awareness, more specifically the environmental impacts caused by human action.

Happiness is treated as a concept based on Aristotle’s eudaimonia with additions by other philosophers, like Socrates, Plata, Spinozaand applied to present-day political developments.The case study analyzes two speeches by world leaders: Germany’s Angela Merkel at a press conference following a visit to a refugee camp, pledging acceptance of a large number of refugees, and Donald Trump during his electoral campaign, proposing an immigrant-containing wall at the US-Mexico border.The research questions are: what is the relationship between Aristotelian happiness and nobleness of character?

O presente artigo versa sobre as questões que envolvem a construção do planejamento e a gestão urbana. Tendo como recorte o município de Teresina capital do Estado do Piauí, onde analisamos como vem ocorrendo a participação da sociedade civil na elaboração do planejamento, tendo como premissa que a participação popular deve ter prioridade no processo de planejamento. A Gestão Pública de Teresina vem se esforçando na busca pela construção de uma agenda onde os espaço públicos sejam pensados socialmente e ambientalmente de forma mais sustentáveis.

Thermal decomposition of lanthanum nitrate hexahydrate, La(NO3)3∙6H2O, has been studied by thermogravimetric technique, differential scanning calorimetry, infrared spectroscopy and X-ray diffractometry. At the beginning, this complex process involves slow and rapid internal hydrolysis in the liquid phase, like the processes described for the light members of the lanthanide series. In the first stage, condensation is accompanied by the removal of water to form intermediate clusters containing O-La-OH groups. No traces of lower hydrates were detected.

Essa pesquisa enfoca a temática dos Objetivos do Desenvolvimento Sustentável (ODS), analisando como as universidades são atores preponderantes para o alcance da Agenda 2030 proposta pela Organização das Nações Unidas (ONU) e disseminada para todos os países. Considerando que essas instituições são responsáveis pela produção do conhecimento científico e também desempenham papel primordial na formação do pensamento crítico, reconhece-se a sua atuação como ator relevante na incorporação dessas metas propostas pela ONU.

Objetivo: investigar a utilização de metodologias ativas por profissionais da saúde ao realizarem práticas educativas nos diversos cenários. Metodologia: revisão integrativa, busca de artigos nas bases: SciELO; LILACS e BDENF, setembro de 2020, sobre: educação em saúde utilizando metodologias ativas. Critérios inclusão: artigos publicados em: inglês, português e espanhol, últimos dez anos, e exclusão: cartas, resenhas, editoriais; livros, capítulos de livros, publicações autoria governamental, informativos, monografias, TCC, resumos, artigos revisão, dissertações, teses.

Background: The performance and stability of activated sludge (AS) processes are strongly related to influent wastewater characteristics. Objective: To investigate the influence of different chemical compositions of influent wastewater, in terms of source of carbon, on activated sludge. Methods: Response was measured in oxygen uptake rate (OUR), volatile suspended solids in the mixed liquor (MVLSS), chemical oxygen demand (COD), and microbial community profile, obtained using Matrix-Assisted Laser Desorption Ionization-Time-of-Flight Mass Spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS).

The World Health Organization (Who, 2014) acknowledges that obesity is one of the biggest issues concerning public health around the world. It also claims that the bariatric surgery has been chosen as the treatment for the severe obesity as it promotes an important weight loss. Considering this, the purpose of this research is to evaluate the self-esteem and depression among patients who will undergo bariatric surgery. In this manner, a cross-sectional study was carried out with a primary data collection and convenience sample.
