Aim: Comparing the oral health condition of elderly individuals diagnosed or not with Alzheimer Disease (AD), based on the DMFT index. Methods: Descriptive and comparative study conducted with a convenience sample comprising 15 elderly individuals with AD and 25 without the disease, in the age group 60-85 years. Participants’ general data and health information were collected through the analysis of medical records and interviews. Their oral condition was analyzed based on the DMFT index, by taking into account the use of dental prostheses.

This paper aims to analyze Ground Penetrating RADAR (GPR) as a tool for determining the density of the asphalt layer, supported by integrated testing of GPR and geotechnical data. Conventional methods for assessing the compaction control of this layer are destructive, expensive, and time consuming. The GPR technique is a remote method that is faster than existing conventional methods and has proven to be an effective tool for obtaining information during the study of highways.

Objetivo:conhecer a produção científica sobre uso de fitoterápicos e plantas medicinais para tratamento de sintomas do climatério, e as contribuições desses estudos para a efetivação do uso dessas substâncias. Método: revisão bibliométrica de caráter quantitativo e exploratório através da plataforma Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde. Resultados: Foram analisados 19 artigos que preenchiam os critérios de inclusão. O número de publicações sobre plantas medicinais e fitoterápicos relacionados a menopausa vem crescendo nos últimos anos.

Aim: Analyze some data available by the main Italian and Brazilian agencies on mortality of elderly people in both countries before the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic from non-communicable chronic diseases (NCD). Materials and methods: Descriptive and comparative study, retrieved from the database of the National Italian Institute of Statistics (Istituto Nazionale di Statistica) and for the Brazilian population, from the database of the Department of Informatics of the Unified Health System (DATASUS).

This paper demonstrates a computational tool that allows the imaging fusion and registration among different types of images. This approach allows the generation of a 3D thermal models combined with anatomy slices, enabling their 3D visualization altogether. This method can be used to assist in the identification of different pathological patterns, which can be verified based on this image fusion methodology.

As Doenças Cardiovasculares (DCV) são caracterizadas como alterações funcionais do sistema cardíaco, prejudiciais na função de transporte de oxigênio e nutrientes às células do organismo. As principais DCV acometidas na população nos últimos anos são: Doença Arterial Coronariana, Insuficiência Cardíaca, Angina, Infarto Agudo do Miocárdio, Doenças Valvares, Arritmias e Doenças Hipertensivas. Descrever evidências disponíveis na literatura sobre cuidados de enfermagem na alta hospitalar de cirurgia cardiovascular.

Introduction: In a direct trauma to the eyeball, the orbital content is pressed against the surrounding walls and the transmission of this force can lead to bone fracture and herniation of the periorbital content to the maxillary sinus. Objective: This study aims to perform a bibliographic review on the surgical approach in orbital blow-out fractures. Methodology: A literary review was carried out by crossing the selected descriptors in electronic search between 2010 and 2020, found in the journals of the databases SCIELO, LILACS and MEDLINE.

O Serviço de Atendimento Integral à Família é uma das funcionalidades do Centro de Referência de Assistência Social. Dentre os serviços prestados encontra-se a brinquedoteca, uma oficina lúdica que promove o desenvolvimento de crianças com faixa etária de 1 a 4 anos de idade. Analisando o trabalho realizado na brinquedoteca de um CRAS na cidade de Caxias – MA, observou-se lacunas referentes a falta de atividades direcionadas para a aprendizagem de novas habilidades, necessitando de uma intervenção a fim de mudar esta realidade.

Objetivos: Investigar evidências científicas sobre a associação entre o uso de benzodiazepínicos e a ocorrência de quedas em idosos. Método: Trata-se de uma revisão integrativa, na qual foi realizada busca de estudos junto ao Portal de periódicos CAPES/MEC, acessando as bases de dados Literatura Latino Americana e do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde (Lilacs), Scopus, Medline/PUBMED e Web of Science.

The authors are commenting on the study entitled “Ranibizumab or aflibercept for diabetic macular edema. Comparison of 1-year outcomes from the fight retinal blindness registry”, published by Bhandari et al. in Ophthalmology 2020;127(5):608-615, which compared the 12-month treatment outcomes of ranibizumab and aflibercept in 383 treatment-naïve eyes with diabetic macular edema. The authors found that aflibercept had somewhat better anatomic outcomes and larger visual acuity gains only in eyes receiving aflibercept treatment when the initial visual acuity was 68 letters or fewer.
