Design and Methodology: This is a critical literature review. Research limitations/ Implications: The subject of revisiting John S. Mbiti’s African religions and philosophy has not been fully researched in relation to strategic management. Consequently, there is limited literature on the subject.

Women on the scene: humanized childbirth and gender violence

For centuries, childbirth was considered a private care of the female gender and was performed by midwives, women who transmitted their practical knowledge from each generation. With the advent of traditional medicine, childbirth became institutionalized as medical, male, safe and scientific knowledge, resulting in the marginalization of social practices. In this scenario, the woman is no longer considered an active and conscious subject, capable of gestating and giving birth according to her wishes, but subject to medical scrutiny and formal institutions of care.

Pain perception and depression in patients with breast cancer

We studied pain perception and depression in a sample comprising 82 patients with breast cancer. Evaluation was done through standard form with socio-demographic questions. Relation between depression, McGill Pain Questionnaire, VAS and BDI corresponded to p >0.183. BDI related to quality of sleep with p = 0.036, the highest BDI being related to insomnia. Black and par do (brown-skinned) races revealed p < 0.05 in the McGill Pain Questionnaire for the affective, miscellaneous and total dimensions.

Professionals’ Memories of a Family Health Unit on marital violence against women

Comparative and correlative study of computerized tomographic scan findings and intropearative findings in patients with inflammatory sinonasal diseases

Background: Inflammatory sinonasal diseases (ISD) refer to a group of disorders characterized by inflammation of the mucosa of the PNS. Acute ISD are defined as sudden in onset and duration less than 3 weeks. Recurrent acute infections are defined as four or more attacks per year lasting greater than 7-10 days. Chronic is defined as duration of symptoms more than 12 weeks Materials and methods: The present prospective study was conducted in the department of ENT JSS medical college and hospital. The study was conducted from a period of Nov 2012 to June 2014.

A study of the variation of serum uric acid in patients with and without diabetes mellitus who have normal renal function

1) Correlation of Serum Uric acid with Creatinine levels in male Diabetic population r=-0.048 and p>0.05 shows no significant correlation between serum uric acid and Creatinine levels. While in females r=0.270 and p<0.05 shows significant positive correlation between serum uric acid and Creatinine levels. 2) The correlation of Serum Uric acid with age in male Diabetic population r=- 0.0175 and p>0.05 shows no significant correlation between serum uric acid and age.

Clinical, epidemiological and vertical transmission rate of HIV-Infected pregnant

The human immunodeficiency virus epidemic has been increasing in Brazil, especially in women of childbearing age, the identification and follow-up of these women is an important aspect during prenatal care. This study describes the clinical, epidemiological profile and the vertical transmission rate of pregnant women infected. Descriptive and retrospective study was carried out involving 233 pregnant attending a prenatal care center in Brazil from January 2010 to December 2015.
