The teaching-learning process of adolescents with intellectual disabilities in the view of educational professionals

The inclusion of students with intellectual disabilities in regular education changed the reality until then, treating them in a special way according to their abilities and limitations. It is not only about inserting them, but also offering services through specialized services that organize resources according to your specific learning needs. This study aimed to evaluate the teaching-learning process of adolescents with special needs/intellectual disabilities of a Municipal School in the municipality of Montes Claros-MG.

Collective health and urban environments: reflections for public health surveillance the local populations of the amazon

Objective: To reflect on health surveillance practices in urban environments. Methods: Qualitative, descriptive and exploratory research, carried out by means of a case study in the municipality of Oriximiná, State of Pará, Brazil. As a segment of the study, the spaces of the municipal slaughterhouse and its surroundings, as well as public official documents, were delimited. Results: It was identified that in the last decade the municipal health surveillance had several problems regarding infrastructure, inspection and maintenance.

Assessment of pre-school teachers preparedness for inclusive practice

Materials and research methods: The study is retrospective-prospective and controlled. For the purpose of this research, a measuring instrument used was a survey "Assessment of Preschool Teachers Preparedness in Inclusive Practice", an expanded Belan T. The final sample covered 62 participants; 37 (60%) preschool teachers were in the test group and 25 (40%) school teachers were in the control group. Average age of respondents was 38,5 years, where the youngest was 26 years old, and the oldest 59.

The role of nurses in relation to management in urgency and emergency services: integrative review

The managerial function is an instrument that allows to organize the work process in a systematic way, making it more efficient and productive. This study aims to identify how the nurse manages emergency and emergency services. The study is characterized as an integrative review of literature in the Latin American Literature in Health Sciences database and in the Scientific Eletronic Library Online virtual library, from the keywords 'management'; 'nursing'; 'urgency' and 'emergency' available in the Descriptors in Health Sciences.

Nursing perspectives on perinatal mortality: contextualization and care

Perinatal mortality is one of the serious problems that afflict public and private health in Brazil. Its impact is differentiated in each region, but the mortality rate is a general cause of concern and calls for the need to investigate its causes and ways of minimizing it. This study aimed to identify the attitudes of nurses regarding perinatal death and understand the perspective of nurses on the possibilities of reducing perinatal death.

Outcomes of intrasheath steriod injection for treatment of de quervains tenosynovitis

Introduction: De Quervain's tenosynovitis is a stenosing tenosynovitis of the first dorsal compartment of the wrist. Various modalities of treatment include splinting, local corticosteroid injection and surgical decompression. In this prospective study the effectiveness of local corticosteroid injections for de Quervain's tenosynovitis was assessed. Materials and methodology: Fourty five patients were included in the study. All patients included in this study showed no improvement with oral analgesics. Pain and tenderness was recorded as per the VAS scale before the procedure.

Perioperative management of jehovah’s witnesses

There are approximately 8.5 million Jehovah’s Witnesses (JWs) worldwide, with 101,246 currently live in Korea. JWs have refused allogenic blood transfusion on religious grounds since 1945. This has presented challenges and ethical dilemmas for anesthesiologists and related healthcare staff in providing care to this group. Due to the rapid increase in the membership of JWs in Korea, physicians, especially anesthesiologists, should be prepared to manage JW patients, because they are usually the ones who are responsible for transfusion during the perioperative period.

Self perception of country health and correlation with the child's oral health care

Oral health care in the first years of life is dependent on what is taught by parents or caregivers. The study aimed to identify the self-perception of oral health of adults and associated variables. It is a cross-sectional and descriptive study with a qualitative-quantitative approach performed with parents of students from a public school in Quixadá-Ceará. A structured questionnaire was applied and then an oral health education activity was carried out.

Epidemiology of pregnancy - specific hypertensive disease in Amazonia and its Perinatal impact - analysis from 2015 to 2016

The objective of this study is to characterize the epidemiological, clinical and obstetric profile of puerperae with the pregnancy-induced hypertension and its perinatal repercussions. A total of 493 pregnant women who delivered from March 2015 to January 2016 were included, and 2% of these pregnant women had twin pregnancies, resulting in 503 newborns. Regarding gestational data, there was a significant incidence of primigravidae. In addition, 95.9% of the patients started prenatal care, but 41.1% had less than 6 visits.
