Late pericatheter leakage in continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis patient– a case report

Introduction: Continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD) is one of the treatment  modalities for end-stage renal disease. The most important advantage of CAPD over hemodialysis is that it endows patients the liberty to perform daily activities and also is technically simpler. However, there is only limited long-term effectiveness of CAPD because of various complications. Dialysate leakage is a major noninfectious complication of peritoneal dialysis. This  paper presents a peritoneal dialysis patient with late pericatheter leak.

DIET – A pointer to dental and oral health

Nutrition is expanding to reach all components of health care including dentistry. Diet can affect oral health via numerous mechanisms. The health of oral tissues can be affected by nutrition, diet and oral habits. The documented associations between oral health and systemic health demonstrates the need for dentists to become more knowledgeable about systemic nutrition which affects the normal growth, development and maintenance of the dental structures, promotes the immunity necessary  for wound healing and affects resistance to oral infections.

Introduction: Placenta is directly related to the growth and development of the fetus in utero. Hypertensive disorders of pregnancy are strongly associated with fetal growth restriction, prematurity, contributing largely to perinatal mortality and morbidity.
Aims and Objectives: 1. Identification of morphological changes in placenta in patients with PIH.
2.Correlating these changes which may contribute or cause adverse pregnancy  or fetal outcome.
