Intraoral fibrosarcoma of tongue: an unusual case report with review

Sarcomas are the rare malignant neoplasms originating from the mesodermal tissues that constitute connective tissues of the body. Among these, fibrosarcoma constitutes 5-15% of all sarcomas present in the head and neck region. It is the neoplastic lesion of malignant fibroblasts that shows no other evidence of cellular differentiation and is capable of recurrence with metastasis. The most common anatomic site of occurrence of this tumor is deep soft tissues of lower extremities and in the head and neck region, intraoral adult fibrosarcoma is very rare with no particular sex predilection.

Awareness of breast cancer among female students at adesh university Bathinda, Punjab, India

Carcinoma of the breast is the leading cause of death in women aged 30 years and above. It reduces the life expectancy of the population at risk especially those between 31 and 50. The incidence of breast cancer is rising rapidly in the population group that used to enjoy low incidence of the disease. Majority of the patients present late in the hospital. It is therefore pertinent to assess the level of awareness and knowledge of breast cancer. Prevalence of refractive anomalies among youths in Imo State, Nigeria

This study was aimed at determining the prevalence of refractive anomalies among young boys and girls in Imo State. It is a retrospective study in which files of patients from 5 optometry clinics were reviewed; files of 200 patients aged between 18-30 years were randomly selected out of all the files that were reviewed. There were 100 boys and 100 girls. The data collected were classified into five basic refractive anomalies: myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, myopic astigmatism and hyperopic astigmatism.
