Introdução: Conhecer os aspectos morfofuncionais dos membros superiores (MMSS) e inferiores (MMII) é determinante para a compreensão das suas afecções. Considerando que traumas dos membros são comuns na prática, o curso de medicina da UNIFAL-MG ofertou uma disciplina optativa com essa temática. Objetivos: relatar as experiências e atividades desenvolvidas durante a disciplina optativa “Bases anatomoclínicas, ortopédicas e diagnóstico por imagem dos membros superiores e inferiores”.

The contribution of electrotherapy to rehabilitation of children with obstetric brachial plexus palsy

Background: Obstetric brachial plexus palsy (OBPP) is the palsy of some part or the whole of the upper limb that occurs in the newborn during a difficult delivery. OBP results from injury to the cervical roots C5–C8 and thoracic root T1 with <1% of births. Purpose: The purpose of the review is to investigate the effectiveness of electrotherapy in combination with standard rehabilitation programs in the rehabilitation of OBPP. Method: A search in online databases, through search engines as Pub-med, PEDro and Google Scholar, was conducted.

Fractal analysis in cone-beam computed tomography and panoramic radiography images of native bone before and after sinus grafts

Objective: Compare the fractal analysis (FA) of the graft of a synthetic hydroxyapatite and its association with L-PRF, after elevation of the maxillary sinus floor, compared with native bone. Materials and Methods: A sample of 20 patients was included and cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) and theFAwere performed in 10 (T1) and 180 days (T2) after the surgery. Care for people with cardiological diseases

Objective: The objective of this work is to describe the care for people with cardiological disorders. Methodology: This is an experience report through the application of the Systematization of Nursing Care (SAE), aimed at people with cardiological disorders in the hospital context. Results and discussion: Adaptation theory was applied in the six phases of Calista Roy's Theory and nursing diagnoses were prepared for the four adaptation modes: physiological, interdependence, self-concept and role function.

Clinical and epidemiological profile of tuberculosis in aracati city, ceara in 2017 and 2018

Introduction: Tuberculosis is an infectious disease originated by the bacterium Mycobacterium tuberculosis, which attacks the lungs and can cause death. Objective: To delineate an epidemiological profile among the age group of patients diagnosed with tuberculosis, investigate, and identify the magnitude of cases of the disease and its consequences in the municipality of Aracati-CE. Methodology: Ecological, descriptive, and quantitative research that sought to understand factors associated with high reported tuberculosis rates.

Role of the physical therapist in the immediate postoperative period of liver transplantation

Liver transplantation has been the most suitable choice for the treatment of end-stage liver disease. And it is in the postoperative period of liver tx that the monitoring of respiratory complications guarantees survival after this procedure. The objective of this study is to evaluate the role of physical therapy in the immediate postoperative period of liver transplantation.

This article goes through the theme of the work environment and the risks to the worker's mental health, having as a research problem the following question: what are the implications that the unbalanced work environment causes on the employee's psychic health? In order to continue the investigation, the scientific books/articles from Maranhão (2016) and Baruki (2015) were used as theoretical references. This is a qualitative research, using the deductive method.

Transfobia no ambiente de trabalho: uma análise jurisprudencial acerca do assédio trabalhista e suas consequências

A relação trabalhista possui como uma de suas principais características a existência da subordinação por parte do empregado com relação ao seu empregador. Caso o empregador venha a cometer condutas abusivas ilícitas com relação ao seu empregado poderá ser caracterizado o assédio moral, e o empregado será indenizado pelos danos sofridos pelo seu patrimônio moral. Ocorre que algumas pessoas encontram-se em posição de maior vulnerabilidade com relação a outros empregados, apesar de todos serem considerados hipossuficientes.

Pityriasis lichenoides and acute varioliformis (pleva): a case report after oropharyngeal infection

A 21-year-old male patient presented, ten days after infection of the oropharynx, with papulo-erythematous desquamative lesions that rapidly spread to the trunk and limbs, and rapidly evolved to vesicular papulonecrotic lesions, without systemic repercussions. Forty days after the onset of the clinical picture, he underwent the consultation that originated the current case report. He was hospitalized, biopsied, and the diagnosis of acute lichenoid and varioliform pythiasis was confirmed, with a favorable outcome after the use of corticoid and methotrexate.
