Importance of lifestyle in type 2 diabetes mellitus control

Objective: To know the perception of patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus on the influence of lifestyle in disease control. Method: Exploratory and descriptive study, qualitative approach based on the Theory of Social Representations. Was carried out on 23 adult individuals with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, enrolled in a Family Health Unit - Brazil. The data collected through a semi structured interview and processed and analyzed using the Collective Subject Discourse technique.

Studies of some aspects of post natal developmental stages of a serious wild rodent species (rattus sikkimensis) in the laboratory conditions

Among the vertebrate pests, the rodents are quite important as they have a direct interactions with the human beings and the locality. Most of the rodents are prolific breeder and breed throughout the year. This study is concerned with one serious rodent species, the Rattus sp. (Rattus sikkimensis) usually found in some portions of the District Nadia and North 24-Parganas, West Bengal, INDIA. Due to the wild nature of this species, it is very difficult to study the growth and process of development especially during the post natal stages.

Viruses in the etio-pathogenesis of periodontitis. role of human herpes virus (hhv)

Periodontitis is a multifactorial disease. It is a result of complex interplay of pathogens, host and environment. Among the pathogenic organisms, the role of bacteria is fully explained. However the recent researches have focussed on other pathogens in the etiopathogenesis of periodontal diseases. Several studies have proved the association between viruses and periodontal diseases especially human herpes virus (HHV).The main aim of this review is to summarizes the evidence that link various herpes viruses to periodontitis, and to explain the possible mechanisms behind this process.

Numerical simulation of greenhouse solar dryer in natural convection

Traditionally, vegetables and fruits are dried outdoors in the sun without any protection against external pollutants or in direct dryers, causing very significant (nutritional and quantitative) losses. The objective of this work is to conduct a numerical simulation of a solar dryer in natural convection. For simulation, we use COMSOL software. The numerical resolution generated the heat flows in the system, the temperature field, the air velocity field and the pressure variation in the system.

Effect of wastewater on biodegradability of drilling fluid

This study reports the effect of waste water on biodegradation of drilling fluid contamination in brackish water environment. The experimental set ups include; Control 1(Brackish water with Water base drilling fluid) (BW+WB), Control 2 (Brackish water with Oil base drilling fluid) (BW+OB), Brackish water with Water base drilling fluid with Waste water (BW+WB+WW) and Brackish water with Oil base drilling fluid with Waste water (BW+OB+WW). Biodegradability was monitored for 28days.

Systematization of nursing assistance: nursing activities in uterine inversion

The systematization the Nursing Care - (SAE) is valuable tool in the treatment of women with uterine inversion, rare disease, defined as introversion in the uterus glove finger and takes place on the 3rd stage of labor, accompanied by bleeding, which may lead death or affect a woman's fertility. This is a descriptive study with qualitative approach of a case study, developed by fitness dêmicos nursing during practical activities of the discipline supervised II, in September 2017, in a general hospital in a southwest Bahia municipality.

Study on economic feasibility of intercropping of kinnow (citrus reticulata blanco) with legume crops in the sub tropical region of Punjab

An experiment was carried out to study the production potential and economic feasibility of inter-cropping kinnow and legume crops at the nursery of Department of Horticulture, Khalsa College, Amritsar during 2016-2017.The productivity of the intercropping systems was found to differ significantly. The highest gross return was obtained from the kinnow + pea intercropping system and the lowest gross return was obtained from kinnow + coriander. The highest benefit - cost ratio (2.41) was recorded in kinnow + pea intercropped followed by T4 (2.05) and T5 (1.79).

Bell pepper performance with recycled nutrient solution

Mexican growers of greenhouse bell pepper (Capsicum annum L.) have adopted productions systems developed for other countries with climatic and socioeconomic conditions different from Mexico. This study examines the effects of different soilless systems on yield and nutrient solution use of bell pepper under low technology greenhouse in Tehuacan, Puebla, South Central Mexico. The experiment design was a complete random block with four repetitions; the experimental unit was 3 m2 which included 9 plants.

Biochemical and histological parameters in induced type 2 diabetic rats fed with high fat diet without exogenous cholesterol and low-dose streptozotocin

The objective of the present study is to establish a rat model for diabetic type 2 (T2DM) fed with high fat diet without addition of exogenous cholesterol and low streptozotocin (STZ) dose aiming higher survival rate under the local experimental conditions for evaluating sources of biodiversity to supply alternative energy for T2DM individuals mainly from the Pantanal (wet land) and the Savanna-like area (Cerrado) of the Mato Grosso do Sul State.

Impact of different crop establishment techniques and varieties on cgr, rgr, nar and yield of hybrid rice

Rice is the most important staple food crop in the world and a major food grain for more than a third of world’s population (Prasertsak and Fukai, 1997). About 40% of world population uses rice as a major source of calories. The use of hybrid rice is a new development in India. Hybrid rice is the commercial rice crop from F1 seeds of cross between two genetically dissimilar parents.
