Crossover analysis of major cash crop production in West Africa: Post covid-19 pandemic in view

Food security and cash availability are some of the present major concerns of many countries of the world since the outbreak of the deadly Corona virus (COVID-19) disease. This study examines the production of major cash crops in the 16 West African countries from 1961 to 2018 using the Crossover Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) design with a view to examine the relationship between the level of production among the countries. Four variables were considered for this study namely the Area, Item, Unit and the Flag description.

Text recognition in pcbs: an object character recognition (ocr) algorithm

The Optical Character Recognition (OCR), together with another inspection techniques, is the mostly method utilized in the PCB industry. This work have as objective to identify text characters in five main PCBs template samples. Further, through a “Guide User Interface” (GUI) developed in MATLAB software, estimate the parameters as the quantity of detected texts, plot the graphic with the mean time average, and classifying the text character detected. Results showing the efficacy detection capacity of the OCR algorithm also are described in this work.

Three phase grid connceted pv system using incremental conductance method

The goal of this project papers is to study the whole three phase grid connected system fed by PV panel using an MPPT algorithm to feed the maximum available power at different environmental conditions and to implement the same in Matlab/Simulink. Firstly, boost converter and MPPT implementation and secondly, the grid-side inverter and grid interconnection fed by a DC source. In the first part, the PV array was simulated in Matlab/Simulink and various tests carried out to determine the dependence of IV and PV curves on irradiance and temperature.

Sistema de medição de temperatura da água em ambiente de piscicultura por meio de veículos Aéreos não tripulados (vant)

Despite the widespread use of technology in several agricultural activities, most of the production processes in fish farming are not automatized. That includes water quality control and feed supply, which are related given that water temperature is key to determine how much feed should be dispensed in the fishponds at a given time. In this work, we describe a system to estimate the water temperature in a fish farm via unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) and show how it can enhance the fishponds daily management.

Image recognition with machine learning: an adaptive approach

Image recognition is a recurring theme in the field of computer vision and it currently borrows some elements from Artificial Intelligence also. However, images are often dealt with in a specific manner, with the algorithms exploring some feature of the said image (be it during pre-processing or during image recognition). Such as is the case when, for instance, some specific algorithms are used for recognition purposes (ranging from biometric recognition to medical images recognition and also the recognition of some defects in electrical / electronic circuit boards), to name just a few.

This article recorded the first reflections about the research project in development at the Postgraduate Program in Languages, Media and Art at Pontifical Catholic University of Campinas (PUC-Campinas). This paper aims to present a synthesis of the theoretical-methodological foundation and to describe the main study object. For that, this work has involved a qualitative approach, concentrated on a bibliographic survey, based on contemporary television studies, narrative and stylistic analyzes and the relationship between the media and society.

Analysis of the potential for the use of the green coco peel fiber for asphalt paving in the city of Recife, Pernambuco, Brazil

Brazil is one of the largest consumers of coconut water in the world, as a result it is also one of the world's largest producers of this fruit. The green coconut shell represents around 80% of the volume of this fruit, generating a large residue after consuming its water. Thus, it ends up being a waste generated in high quantity, mainly in the cities of northeastern Brazil, which has a large extension of the coastal region. This waste, due to its shape, occupies large volumes in landfills and generates a lot of visual pollution in urban centers, mainly on beaches.

Industrial zoo/bioplankton cultivation in the ocean for agriculture and medicine needs

UMoID/A, developed by the authors of this work, have unique performance specifications (extremely high magnetic induction density, close to one hundred percent efficiency, low material consumption), which allows them to grind various materials up to nanoscale for various areas of industrial production, chemistry and medicine.

Challenges that hinder the sustainability of small and medium scale enterprises in East Gojjam Zone, Northern Ethiopia

Small and medium-size enterprises (SMEs) play a major role in the vitalization and growth of national economies as they create job opportunities, foster stability and the creation of regional economies, and produce high value-added goods. The contributions of SMEs for socio-economic development are generally acknowledged, but they faced many obstacles that limit their survival or sustainability.
