Prevalence of maxillary and Mandibular tori in a group of population in Sulaimani city

Background: Tori are benign anatomical bony prominences occurring in the hard palate and the lingual aspect of the mandible.
Aim: to investigate the prevalence of maxillary and mandibular tori in different gender and age group.
Methodology: three hundred and fifty patients from shorish teaching dental center (198 males and 152 females) were examined for presence of torus palatinus and torus mandibularis, their location and relation to gender and age were evaluated.

A review on ayurvedic perspective of thyroid disorders

Thyroid gland disorders are growing worldwide health issue. Thyroid hormone regulates metabolic rate of the body. Failure of thyroid hormone to maintain metabolic rate mainly produces hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism. Thyroid disorders are characterized by physical and mental abnormality. There is no exact correlation of thyroid gland in Ayurveda. But the Ayurvedic system of medicine is very futuristic and it doesn’t emphasize on naming the disease. It rather insists on understanding the constitutional status of a disease and adopting an appropriate treatment principle.

Evaluation of the appearence of mandibular incisive canal by panoramic radiographs

Objectives: The aim of this study was to evaluate the visibility of mandibular incisive canal in the mental interforaminal region on panoramic radiographs.
Materials and Methods: 1000 panoramic radiographs of the patients were obtained retrospectively from the archieved records of our radiology department. The images were evaluated by a single radiologist and the presence of mandibular incisive canal were recorded.

Risk factors of pregnancy related hypertension among women attending maternal health care service in selected public hospitals of Tigray, Ethiopia

Introduction: Hypertensive disorder of pregnancy is the commonest medical complication of pregnancy. The incidence varies in different populations and is also affected by the definition used. Generally the problem is more common in the developing countries than it is in the developed countries. Several studies have shown that null parity, extreme ages, race (being black) and others as risk factors for this problem.

Public mental health and economic crises from holy quran and Hadith

One among such diseases, which has stuck the human society, is the horrible economic disease. This disease has targeted man’s psychology which shall be followed by mental disorder and psycho distress.

The profile of liquid film’s flow on the surface roughness in vertically rotating disc contactor

The Profile of liquid film on the surface of contact media with the different surface roughness  provided the different kinds of flow profiles. The existence of the surface roughness in the nano scale, might cause the reduction of physicochemical resistant factor which potentially prevented the liquid film to adhere and dragged out to the surface of contact media. However, varying the kind of material used as the disk material was related to the characteristics solidity of surface roughness.

Energy savings by excessive use of CFLs ensuing disastrous ecosystem

Compact Fluorescent Lights have steadily increased in sales volume as because it provide maximum light output, more efficient than traditional light bulbs with minimum energy consumption. Development of fluorescent lamps that could fit in the same volume as comparable incandescent lamps required the development of new, high-efficacy phosphors that could withstand more power per unit area than the phosphors used with older, larger lamps. But CFLs contain toxic element, toxic fumes, fire hazard, and health hazard. Excessive use of CFLs may some disastrous on this ecosystem.

Transient mhd mass transfer flow past an impulsively started vertical plate in a porous medium with ramped temperature, thermal diffusion and radiation

In this paper we discuss, an exact solution to the problem of a MHD viscous, incompressible free convective flow of an electrically conducting, Newtonian non Grey fluid past a suddenly started infinite vertical plate with ramped wall temperature and concentration in presence of appreciable radiation heat transfer and uniform transverse magnetic field is presented. The fluid is assumed negligible magnetic Reynolds number considered Induced hydro magnetic effects. The equations governing the flow are solved by using Laplace transform technique in closed form.
