Incidence and significance of Urogenital infections & preventive strategies of preterm Labour and premature rupture of membranes

Objective: To know the incidence of infections in preterm labour (PTL), premature rupture of membranes (PROM), neonatal morbidity and preventive strategies of preterm labour.
Methods: study consists of 100 urine and vaginal samples obtained from patients with preterm labour / PROM. The study group includes patients admitted into NRI General Hospital Labour Ward.

Evaluation of Nootropic activity of newly synthesized n14 & n15 Phenothiazine derivatives

Objective: The present study aimed at evaluating the newly synthesized novel phenothiazine derivative (N14&N15) for memory enhancing activity in scopolamine and diazepam induced amnesic rodents using cook’s pole climbing, elevated plus maze and passive avoidance paradigm
Background: N14 and N15 are newly synthesized novel phenothiazine derivatives with substitution at N-10 position, which resembles with dopamine structure, having dopaminergic receptor agonist activity. Phenothiazines are reported to have anti-psychotic, anti-convulsant activity.

Change in antibiotic susceptibility pattern of common oral antibiotics in Escherichia coli in urinary isolates: An eleven-year retrospective study

Introduction: Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) is the leading cause of bacterial infections. Billions of dollars are spent on a yearly basis to treat it empirically and fruitful results cannot be obtained unless we direct our efforts to a judicious choice of antibiotics and means to avoid the increasing bacterial resistance.1, 2, 3, 7 We observed the duration after which an organism showed significant change in antibiotic susceptibility (considering 20% as a significant change).

Evaluating the effect of customer loyalty strategies on customer satisfaction among selected global system for mobile communications (GSM) services providers in south eastern Nigeria

In the male dominated society women are viewed as consumable commodities. They are expected to fit in the roles ascribed by the male hegemony.

Introducing novel intermediate band materials for high-efficiency solar cells based on znse doped with transition metals

Solar cell materials with more than one bandgap offer the possibility to increase the efficiency of the solar cell beyond that of a single bandgap cell. In the present study comprehensive analysis is carried out on ZnSe doped with transition metals. Theoretical studies confirm the formation of suitable mini-bands within ZnSe band gap by doping of transition metals. The mini bands mainly are created by nd orbitals of the transition metals. Absorption coefficient, density of states and band structure are three important features of the proposed materials.

Biochemical composition of parastromateus niger (bloch) from within and outside pfz zones off ratnagiri district coast, Maharashtra State, India

The PFZ advisory consist of Chlorophyll and Sea Surface Temperature is called Potential Fishing Zone on the contrary fishing is performed in the absence of PFZ advisory away from the PFZ is called as non-PFZ zone. With the help of PFZ advisory fishing activities are carried out in both within and outside PFZ realm by trawl & gill net upon hiring fishing boats from three fish landing centers off Ratnagiri coast. The pomfret fishes in the size range between 25-35cm were selected on board after completion of hauling. Especially these fishes are found in trawl catches and gill net too.

The impact of winter production of traditional vegetables on household food security: a case study of river bed alluvial deposits traditional gardens in hwange district, matabeleland north province

Traditional vegetables have been consumed by many rural communities for centuries and have a potential to contribute to household food security by providing direct access to readily accessible nutritious food and income. To assess the production and availability of the traditional vegetables, a survey was conducted in July to November 2013 in Nekatambe Ward of Hwange District.

Phytotoxic effect of plant extracts from asteraceae on germination of echinocloa crus-galli growth

In Egypt Echinocloa crus-galli is one of the most successful yield-limiting weeds in the rice fields that its control mostly relies on herbicides. Plant species Nauplius graveolens, Picris asplenioides, Reichardia tingitana and Urospermum picroides were collected from naturally growing population in coastal (Deltaic Mediterreanean coast) and inland desert WadiHagul of Egypt. The phytochemical analysis of the selected species in the present study showed that, they contain relatively high contents of tannins, saponins, flavonoids, alkaloids and phenols.
