The traditional folk musical instruments are the mirror of any community in the society. At earlier days, man used the instruments cared about the instruments and hence protected them and was preserved as traditional instrument or folk musical instrument. It reflects in their rituals, spiritual and the traditional activities through music, song, dance, theater, food, costumes etc. Music is the most important medium through which the culture of any community is evaluated. Folk music is one form of the music which cannot be established in society for many reasons.

Objective: The aim of this study is to assess the prevalence of distribution of posterior amalgam and composite restoration and to register various reasons for replacement or repair of amalgam or composite restorations of patients visiting a dental school.

Perceived role of garnishing and colouring in food service and food presentation by students of tertiary institutions

The use of garnishes and colourful materials like sliced eggs, onions, tomatoes and the likes when presenting food for consumption appeal to the eyes to promote appetite thereby encouraging dietary intake and better nutritional status in the long run. This study examines the role of garnishing and colouring in food service as perceived by the consumers. Two hundred respondents were randomly sampled from four tertiary institutions located in the various local government areas within Oyo town and its environs.

Perception of self medication among the university student of kolkata

Self medication is defined as the use of medication by a Patient on his own initiative or on the advice of a Pharmacist or a lay person instead of consulting a medical practitioner. Self-care, including self-medication, has been a feature of healthcare for many years. The World Health Organization has emphasized that self medication must be correctly taught and controlled. Major problems related to self medication is wastage of resources, increased resistance of Pathogens, and generally entails serious health hazards such as adverse reaction and prolonged suffering.

Prevalence of mental disorders in selected rural community at Trivandrum, Kerala

 The purpose of this study was to identify the prevalence of psychiatric morbidity in selected rural community of Trivandrum district. A descriptive design was used to conduct the study. A population of 447 from rural area were surveyed. A mental health screening tool was prepared by the investigators, each of which has certain subsets that describe the nature of the problem under study. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics. 5.2 % in rural area are having mental health problems and 17.2% are having substance abuse. 33.6% of children are presented with mental health problems.

An interpretative phenomenological analysis of the lived experiences of flood in a rural setting of West Bengal, India

The leading objective of the present study is to represent the meaningful and subjective insights of the lived experiences of flood among the residents of a rural setting of Ghatal (West Midnapore), West Bengal. Through Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA), the study seeks to explore the insider’s perspectives of the flood that are a very habitual event at Ghatal.

Migration is part of human life and involves peoples’ movement from one place to another depending on many factors that include resource distribution and the opportunities that some areas in the world present as compared to other areas. As a result of the conflict in Sudan, from 1983-2005, South Sudanese migrated to Kenya for fear of political persecution, human right violation, social, economic and cultural abuses to search for a better way of life.

Cultural perception and meaning of family planning services among the urban slum dwellers in Delhi

Family planning means the restriction for the child’s conception and prevention through the application of different methods of contraceptives after certain number of children in the family. The small family size has been suggested or recommended by the government health institutions and the population expert of the society. The public health institution have developed and started implementation for promoting small family size by adopting the population policies, programs and different strategic plan of actions.

Assessment of liver functions tests in grand Multiparity in second trimester pregnant ladies

Background: Changes in value of certain serum liver function tests occur during normal pregnancy and an understanding of these physiological changes is necessary for the management of liver diseases.
Objective: To compare the levels of liver function tests in grand multiparas with nulliparas [control] and primiparas.
 Materials: A cross-sectional study was performed in 100 non-pregnant ladies as control group, 100 primiparity pregnant women, and 100 grand multiparity pregnant women. All pregnant women were between 20th - 30th weeks gestation.
