Selected properties of hybrid particleboard composite made from oil palm empty fruit bunch (EFB) and merpauh (irvingla malayanan olive) particles bonded with melamine urea formaldehyde res

The Merpauh (Irvingla malayana olive) sawdust was mixed with empty fruit bunch (EFB) of oil palm tree, aimed to improve the homogeneous EFB particleboard. The EFB and Merpauh fibres with diameter of less than 1 mm and more than 1 mm were prepared and they were mixed with ratios of 40:60, 60:40, 80:20 and 100:0. The particleboard with a target density of 750 Kg/m3 and sized of 340mm x 340mm x 12mm were prepared with 12% melamine urea formaldehyde (MUF) and 3 % hardener.

The improvised explosive devices unsurgent artillery in modern warfares

We have no greater responsibility than providing the safety and security for our citizens, allies, and partners and develop the economic environment that promotes opportunity and prosperity. The use of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) threatens these interests by killing, injuring, and intimidating citizens and political leaders around the world, inflicting damage on security forces on the battlefield, and disrupting transportation and the flow of commerce. The terrorists and criminals responsible for these attacks are resilient, technologically adept and adaptable.

Financial inclusion and development: Recent evidence of agency banking in Kenya

Global and national-level policy makers have been embracing financial inclusion as an important development priority. Financial inclusion is highly topical globally hence made one of its pillars at the G20 2009 Pittsburgh Summit. By end-2013, more than 50 national-level policy-making and regulatory bodies had publicly committed to financial inclusion strategies for their countries.

The role of technical education in a reforming economy: The Nigerian experience

History has shown that technical education is an important factor in the growth and development of any nation. The reality of today also indicates that technological advancements and innovations have touched virtually every aspect of life. Therefore, any nation that fails to take the production of technicians seriously has sentenced itself into perpetual underdevelopment. It is against this background that many countries including Nigeria mapped out strategies in promoting technical education.

Language as the most effective instrument of communication

In this study, character of communication is evaluated and language is discussed as main component of communication and spiritual power of language is emphasized as a primary actor of communication. Man drew on cave walls and graved on stone and wrote on papyrus and painted on canvas and always tried to tell something in past because of his natural need and because of natural necessity of social life. He wanted to tell his opinions and his impressions and wanted to learn other’s messages and he tried to talk to other people.

Ethno-medicinal uses of floristic diversity of sub-tropical forests of Jammu, Jammu and Kashmir, India

The study was conducted to record the diversity, traditional uses and the utilization pattern of medicinal plants in sub-tropical forests in and around erstwhile district Jammu, Jammu and Kashmir. During the survey, out of total 395 plant species recorded, 118 species belonging to 107 genera in 56 families revealed the ethno-medicinal relevance to the area. These belonged to 42 trees, 27 shrubs, 39 herbs, 08 climbers, 1 epiphyte and 1 bamboo species.

The reviews of Einstein's equation of logarithmic distribution platform and the process of changes in the speed range of the Karkheh river, Khuzestan province, Iran

In this study in order to evaluate the accuracy of the equation and its coefficient variation in addition to obtain flow characteristics in six sections and estimates of geometric parameters using the SPSS software HEC-RAS 4, sampled in many points of bed soil and were used in analysis. Results showed that the bed was rough and this roughness was only a function of the high slope of waterway and velocity gradient predicted by equation has good agreement with obtained gradient.

Study of modifications of the river physical specifications on muskingum coefficients, through employment of genetic algorithm

Sofar much research has been done of flood routing through Muskingum linear and non-linear model and genetic algorithm. Study of changed specifications of river such as waterway slope, width and length of the river, and the river bed which lead to determination of its roughness coefficient, and their impacts of flood hydrograph and finally on nonlinear model coefficients, are importance. In this research, effect of modifications of width and length of the ricer on coefficients of the Muskingum nonlinear model employing the genetic algorithm has been investigated.

Embedded system design for measurement of dielectric constant of conducting polymers at microwave frequencies

This paper deals with the design of an embedded system for acquiring the dielectric constant using microcontroller controlled stepper motor.  Dielectric parameters of general materials are measured manually by using x-band Microwave bench. These measurements are not much accurate when done manually.

Antihypertensive medications and chronopharmacology: role of Saudi pharmacists in patient education

Objective: This study aims to evaluate the practice and knowledge of Saudi pharmacists regarding chronopharmacology of antihypertensive drugs.
Method: A Descriptive cross – sectional questionnaire based survey of randomly selected community pharmacists from Riyadh city in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in March and April 2014. Sample consisted of randomly selected 100 community pharmacists.
