Characterization of a new Al3+-selective fluorescent probe based on naphthalene derivative

A new compound derived from naphthalene was successfully characterized as Al3+-selective fluorescent probe. The proposed probe has better selectivity and sensitivity compared to other tested metal ions. A prominent fluorescence enhancement was observed in the presence of Al3+, accompanied by the change in the absorption spectrum.

Prevalence and causes of infertility among women of Jammu and Kashmir

The problem of infertility has not given its due attention in India because it is not a life threatening condition. Infertility is a life crisis with invisible losses and its consequences are manifold. The study was done to find out the prevalence and causes of infertility in ethnic population of J and K. The study was carried out in the hospital settings. The finding of the study Indicates that Jammu region shows highest prevalence of infertility rate followed by Kashmir region, where as Ladakh region shows the lowest prevalence.

Reduction of erythema after laser on rosacea by subthermal 448 khz monopolar radiofrequency

Excellent results are usually obtained when facial benign vascular alterations such as erythrosis and couperosis are treated with vascular laser (pulsed dye, KTP, Neodimiun-YAG) or with Intense Pulsed Light (IPL). However, the erythema occurring at hours or days after such treatment may hamper the patients’ ability to go back to their daily lives and increase the risk of adverse effects. The 448 kHz capacitive/resistive monopolar radiofrequency system is based on the subthermal electrical stimulation of tissues, enabling the restoration of ionic balance at cell level.

Geo spatial analysis of solid waste management in Kumbakonam town

Kumbakonam Municipal town is selected for the present study.
Objectives: a) to trace the past and explore existing conditions of solid waste management practises in the Kumbakonam town, b) to map the existing number of dustbin locations and to find out the suitable and unsuitable locations dust bins in Kumbakonam town and c) to suggest the optimum locations for better management of solid wastes/dust bins using Geographical Information System.

Car drivers’ attitudes towards motorcyclists in a semi-urban community of southwestern Nigeria

More than 20 million people are severely injured or killed on the world’s roads each year and the burden falls most heavily on low income countries. The mortality from Road traffic injury in sub-Saharan Africa is among the highest in the world. Motorcycle crashes accounts for 54% of all road traffic injuries. The main type of conflict in which a motorcyclist is injured or killed is a collision between a motorcycle and a car.

Prevalence of refractive anomalies among youths in Imo State, Nigeria

This study was aimed at determining the prevalence of refractive anomalies among young boys and girls in Imo State. It is a retrospective study in which files of patients from 5 optometry clinics were reviewed; files of 200 patients aged between 18-30 years were randomly selected out of all the files that were reviewed. There were 100 boys and 100 girls. The data collected were classified into five basic refractive anomalies: myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, myopic astigmatism and hyperopic astigmatism.

A study to assess the knowledge and factors associated with the utilization of antenatal care services among the ANC mothers in selected rural areas of sangli distri

Background: India has the dubious distinction of having the highest estimated number of maternal deaths in any country. In addition to the number of death each year. Over 50 million women suffer from maternal morbidity due to acute complications from pregnancy. For effective implementation of the programme understanding of the factors affecting the utilization of maternity care during pregnancy is required.

Study the correlation and regression equation for some economic traits on broiler ross 308 fed on nutrition with different levels of parsley oi

To study the correlation and regression  equations   for some  economic  traits   as  Body weight, length, keel length, dressing  percentage, carcass  weight, breast  and  legs weights  on  Broiler Ross308  fed on different  levels of parsley oil. 200 chicks one day old were reared  till 35 days, grouped for four nutrient  treatments  50 chick/treatment 2 replicates  as (T1 control  group without  parsley oil, T2 nutrient  with 15% parsley oil, T3  nutrient  with 30% parsley oil and  T4 nutrient  with 45% parsley oil).

A novel antianxiety- like activity of amino guanidine in stressed mice: evidence of regulation by no: CGMP modulation

An investigation on possible regulation of antianxiety- like activity of amino guanidine in stressed mice by nitric oxide: cyclic guanosine monophosphate (NO: cGMP) modulation was made. Stressed mice were administered with amino guanidine and tested on elevated plus maze and light/dark box. NO: cGMP modulators (L-arginine, Methylene blue, Bay-607550, 8-Br-cGMP) were administered as pre-treatments in the separate groups of amino guanidine- treated stressed mice and modulation of the noted effect of amino guanidine in stressed mice was observed.
