Use of information technology in technical services: A survey of university libraries of Lahore

Information technology is currently taking center stage and has transformed the whole world into a global village with a global economy, which is increasingly dependent on the creative management and distribution of information. IT has enormous advantages and eased the delivery of information in third world as well. The goal of this study was to find out the level of IT uses in the technical services of the university libraries of Lahore. It is important to point out that focus of this study was the Central Libraries of the universities.

Microfinance institutions in rural Gambia: Case study of the village savings and credit associations

Microfinance Institutions was seen as the solution to development problems in earlier days of its inception, however, increasingly recent evidence shows that it is less effective in delivering those solutions if not managed carefully. Providing affordable credit to the rural communities has long been a prime component of development strategy in developing countries. Governments and donors have sponsored and supported supply-led rural finance institutions to mitigate urban-biased macroeconomic policies.

Postmodernism is a term usually used in any kinds of fields like art, architecture, anthropology, sociology, geography, philosophy and religion. Each field has its definition about postmodernism. Due to this fact, the definition of postmodernism varies and there is no fixed definition of it. As one of the abstract terms in philosophy, postmodernism is in the abstract cognitive. population density and distribution of black shama (Copsychus cebuensis steere) in MT. LANTOY key biodiversity areas in Argao, Cebu, Philippines

Distance sampling point transect method was used to determine the population density of Copsychuscebuensis among the selected forest patches in Mt. Lantoy Key Biodiversity Areas in Argao−an area of high conservation importance in Cebu. Distance 6 Release 2 software was also used in estimating the population density of the target species in three sampling sites namely Barangays Tabayag, Cansuje, and Canbantug. Results have shown that brgy. Tabayag has 26 individuals per hectare for mixed and pure forest strata with coefficient of variation (CV) at 18.29%, brgy.

Perception of public relations function of the government institution that implement bureaucratic reforms

This paper aims to find out the members of the organization’s construction of public relations function in Purwodadi Botanical Garden Management Unit for Plant Conservation-Indonesian Institute of Sciences. This study used a qualitative research approach with phenomenological research method. The data obtained through interviews with 5 (five) informants. The sampling technique used purposive sampling. Data collection techniques in this research through in-depth interviews. Data processing from interviews by documenting into transcript. The process of data analysis using Colaizzi way.

Approaches employed by teachers in teaching the English literature component

There is a scarcity of research on the approaches employed in the teaching of literature component in Malaysia. The studies which do exist mostly describe the quality of an educational system or part of the system in terms of ‘input’ into the teaching process (teachers, equipment, materials, etc.) or look at students’ achievement in relation to these inputs.

Relationship of happiness and subjective vitality in university students

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between happiness and subjective vitality of preservice classroom teachers. Also it was aimed to search the effects of some variables on happiness and subjective vitality. The study was conducted on 135 Turkish preservice classroom teachers who were continued to the Physical Education and Sports Culture lectures in Faculty of Education, Department of Primary Teacher Education in Karadeniz Technical University.

How Nigerians view the Nigeria police leadership and their commitment to crime control: a quantitative study of Kaduna state police command

Prevention of crime and public safety is one of the functions of any police force for which the Nigeria police is not an exemption. This research article investigated how Nigerians view the Nigeria Police leadership and their commitment to crime control and prevention by using the Kaduna State Police Command as the foundation for this Study. Survey was used as the method for data collection anonymously from the rank and file officers through mail in from 190 participants. At the end of the four weeks deadline, a total of 170 surveys were returned.
