Nutritional aspects in the accident cerebral vascular: a cross-sectional study

Aims: To analyze the nutritional aspects, to characterize the socio-demographic profile, to categorize the types of Cerebral Vascular Accident most common in this population, relating to the life habits, comorbidities and nutritional risk in which the patient is. Methods: Descriptive cross - sectional study of a quantitative exploratory character with patients over 18 years of age diagnosed with stroke admitted to the adult emergency unit of a reference hospital in the northern region of Ceará between August and November / 2016.

A study to assess the impact of technology basded approach to improve knowledge on health promoting behaviour towards maternal hypothyroidism among antenatal mothers with hypothyroidism

Background: Thyroid hormones are important in the development of the fetus and the placenta as well as in maintaining maternal wellbeing. Thyroid disorders are common in the population as a whole, particularly in women, and therefore are common during pregnancy and the puerperium. Biochemical derangements of thyroid function tests are present in approximately 2.5–5% of pregnant women. In addition to adverse obstetrical outcomes; maternal hypothyroidism is associated with adverse neonatal outcomes.

Ion Selective Electrodes for Potentiometric Determination of Cyclizine in Its Pharmaceutical Dosage Form

The two ion-pair complex of Cyclizine (Cy) with sodium tetraphenyl borate (TPB) and Phosphotungstic acid (PT) was prepared and used for the construction of Cy-selective electrode. The electrode based on the Cy-PT ion-pair complex has a lower detection limit of 1.5 x 10-7 M in a linear concentration range of 3.5 x 10-7 – 1.0 x 10-2 M with a slope of calibration curve of 50.5 mV/decay. The selectivity coefficient was calculated with separate solution method dictates the high selectivity of the electrode over other tested ions.

Trinexapac-ethyl action in the germination process of varieties of endive

The use of plant regulators in agriculture is a reality. This work aimed at studying the action of trinexapac-ethyl in the germination process of endive varieties. The experimental design was completely randomized in a 3x4 factorial scheme using three cultivars of Endive: Endive cv. Radiche (ER); Cv. Sugar Loaf (ESL) and cv. Catalan (EC); with four doses of trinexapac-ethyl: Zero ml L-1 (control); 0.033 ml L-1; 0.066 ml L-1, and 0.133 m L-1, and four replicates.

Photo degradation rate of ciprofloxacin in solid and liquid forms and with some pharmaceutical excipients systems

Objectives: this study was aimed to assessment the reaction kinetics of the photo-degradation of ciprofloxacin on experimentally under the effect of sun-light for solid, liquid forms and induced some pharmaceutical excipients in ciprofloxacin. Methods: Ciprofloxacin in solid and liquid forms will be expose directly to sun-light, and add some pharmaceutical excipient to determine the photo-degradation rate of ciprofloxacin by means of HPLC. Results: Photolysis of ciprofloxacin in aqueous state and solid form under the effect of sunlight following first order interactions kinetics.

Effect of tannery effluent on seed germination and seedling growth in crotalaria juncea linn

Tannery effluents are one of the major causes of land and water pollution. In the recent times efforts have been taken to reduce the release of these effluents or to adopt eco-friendly tanning methods. However, the damage already caused to soils of Tamilnadu in regions having tanning industry has to be reversed and there have been several attempts to achieve this end. In the present investigation, the effect of tannery effluents on the seed germination and seedling growth of Crotalaria juncea has been studied.

Impact of mid day meal on nutritional status of 7-9 year old children in hyderabad

Mid day meal programme provides food free of cost to over 12 crore children of on all working days. It is a fact that mid day meal had a positive influence on the various objectives of the scheme such as enrolment, attendance , social equity but the contribution of mid day meals to the nutritional status is still not clear. This paper attempts to study the nutrients supplied through mid day meal and its impact on nutritional status of primary school children. School children of age 7-9 years were selected randomly from schools of Hyderabad.

Oxidative stress measurements can indicate the best dose and period of nitrogen fertilizer in white oat crop

The white oat crop is highlightedas an important winter alternative for agriculture in the South of Brazil. Oxidative stress (OS) generated by increased reactive oxygen species under stress conditions may promote unavoidable outcomes for production. Thus, we aim to standardize a simple quantitative spectrophotometric protocol to verify OSparameters in white oat growing under different nitrogen fertilization conditions. We also intend to be able to predict the best time, amount and conditions for nitrogen fertilization, based on OS parameters.

Study of distribution and abundance of tsetse fly (glossina sp.) in gashaka-gumti national park, Nigeria

A study on the distribution and abundance of tsetse flies was conducted between November, 2016 and January, 2017 at Gashaka-Gumti National Park (GGNP), Nigeria. The aim of the study was to determine the distribution and abundance of the fly (Glossina sp.) in the Park. Thirty (30) Biconical traps (Charlier and Laviessiere, 1973) were used to trap the tsetse flie in three locations (Kwano, Gashaka and Mayo-kam). A total of six hundredand ninety eight (698) flies were caught during the study period. Kwano, Gashaka and Mayo-kam had 372 (53.3%), 168 (24.1%) and 158 (22.6%) respectively.

Child labour in India: a historical perspective

Background: Child labour is not a new phenomenon to our age, it has existed in one form or another in all historical times" children in India have been associated with work from time immemorial. The work they were asked to undertake used to provide them an opportunities for direct fulfilment of their natural abilities and creative potentialities and this was conducive to their healthy growth and development. The objective of the present paper are: (1) To describe the historical aspect of child labour in different era in India.
