O Carcinoma de Células de Merkel é um câncer de pele raro e agressivo, mais frequente em pessoas do sexo masculino, idosas e brancas, cujo diagnóstico precoce é difícil, porém, fundamental para o aumento da sobrevida. O seu tratamento se baseia em uma combinação de cirurgia com radioterapia, aliadas, hoje, à imunoterapia. Este artigo relata o caso de uma paciente de 55 anos, negra, com diagnóstico de Carcinoma de Células de Merkel, que se encontra em seguimento clínico pós ressecção da lesão, sem disseminação de doença.

Introduction: The kangaroo method aims to promote humanized care and increase the mother-child bond. With its implementation, Brazil has been standing out for adopting the method as a National Public Policy for the humanization and qualification of neonatal care, favoring the family bond. Objective: To describe the benefits of the Kangaroo Method for premature newborns in NICUs. Methodology: Integrative Literature Review conducted from January to March 2020 using the databases BVS, LILACS, MEDLINE, SciELO digital library.

Teresina está situada entre os rios Poti e Parnaíba, e nas regiões em seu entorno tornou-se praxe o uso de areia em dosagem de concreto, acontece que em algumas areias a areia está escassa, forçando o uso de materiais alternativos pra utilizar como agregado miúdo na fabricação do concreto. Buscando uma produção mais econômica do concreto convencional e sob as mesmas condições de uso, surgiu a ideia de utilizar o massará lavado como agregado, substituindo o uso da areia na composição do material.

Descrevem-se os aspectos epidemiológicos, clínicos e anatomopatológicos da doença do edema em suínos domésticos na sub-região do sertão, Nordeste do Brasil. De janeiro de 2003 a dezembro de 2020 o Laboratório de Patologia Animal da Universidade Federal de Campina Grande realizou 134 necropsias em suínos, das quais 24 (17,9%) foram diagnosticadas como doença do edema. Foram acometidos animais de ambos os sexos, mestiços, com idade variando de 45 a 240 dias.

Objective: To establish the clinical and epidemiological profile of proximal femoral fractures in elderly patients, contextualizing it with potential etiological risk factors and morbidity and mortality in the period from November 2020 to February 2021. Methods: A cross-sectional study was carried out with 61 patients radiologically diagnosed with proximal femur fracture at the Hospital Geral de Nova Iguaçu, metropolitan region of Rio de Janeiro.

Background: Passive smoking leads to lung impairment and an increased risk of lower respiratory tract illnesses as proven by many studies. Small Cigarette retailers like tea stall and Paan shop owners are exposed to passive Smoking throughout the working hours, and are prone to developing Respiratory Disorders. Aim: To assess the effectiveness of Deep Breathing Exercises on the Peak Expiratory Flow Rate in adult, non-smoking, cigarette retailers using a Peak Flow meter. Method: The study involved 50 Adult, Non-smoking, cigarette retailers exposed to the Environmental Tobacco Smoke.

Using titanium as the base metal of biomaterials has gained attention due to its excellent mechanical properties, biocompatibility, and resistance to corrosion and wear. In this research, Ti6-Al7-Nb (wt%) alloy has been superficially modified by cationic cathode plasma nitration (CCN) in order to improve the pre-existing biocompatible characteristics in the alloy. Four treatment conditions and a standard sample, for comparative purposes, were chosen. Nitriding was implemented using a cathodic cage technique at a different time and temperature conditions, and at constant pressure.

In large number of engineering tasks, heat transfer takes place over time, i.e., physical bodies are in non-stationary (transient) conditions.We will use an implicit numerical method for calculating the temperatures at fixed time intervals for certain nodes of the studied body.

O objetivo dessa Temperature control in computers, mobile devices and other devices is important for their stability. The finite differences method is used to calculate the temperatures in fixed nodes of devices, in the absence of internal heat dissipation and certain boundary conditions of the inner walls.
