The objective of the present study is to present the informational and conceptual stages of the development of a technological solutionfor obtaining cocoa butter. The development of the product project was based on the Integrated Product Development Process (PRODIP); this model breaks down the design of the project into four sequential phases called informational design, conceptual design, preliminary design and detailed design. Small producers in southern Bahia were selected as a reference during the informational process, which ultimately defined the project specifications.

The Robust Design method, also called the Taguchi Method, was developed by the engineer and statistician Genichi Taguchi to improve productivity and optimize engineering projects and products. Robust Design focuses on improving the fundamental function of the product or process, making projects more moldable and perfecting the engineering applied to it. It is a most effective method available to improve quality and simultaneously reduce the development interval for projects or products.

The melliferous flora around three apiaries of 6 to 10 hives in the Department of Toumodi (Côte d’Ivoire) was studied with the help of floristic inventories in the plant formations of the study area. Observations were made within a radius of 1 km around each apiary in 3 villages of Toumodi Department (Akakro-Nzikpli, Bédressou and N'Guessankro). The melliferous flora is composed of 157 species in 127 genera and 42 families. The Fabaceae, with 38 species (24.20%) is the best represented.

The objective of this work was to evaluate the microbiological quality of honey from Tíuba, Melipona fasciculata, produced in a mining company, where the air particulate index is high, in the city of São Luís, Maranhão. Seventy honey samples from 15 M. fasciculata bee hives from the mining company Meliponário were analyzed during the period from 2017 to 2018. Of the analyzed samples, 14% had contamination by Molds and Yeasts, while Aerophilic Mesophilic Bacteria were detected in 13% of the samples.

The find for the optimal slide of water to bring to the plot is important in order to limit the recharge of the water table close to the surface. The slide of water brought into the plots is estimated from the reading of the water height before and after each irrigation series on limnimetric scales. Monitoring of the water surface and the salinity of the water and soil made it possible to assess the water balance and surface salt deposits.

Lectins are a group of carbohydrate-binding proteins found in all organisms. Among these proteins, a species that stands out for having several biological activities is Vatairea guianensis lectin (VGL). Techniques involving antibodies can range from classic immunochemistry assays to advanced microscopy techniques. Thus, they can become valuable biotechnological tools since they are able to specifically recognize epitopes of the target molecules. Immunoglobulins are proteins whose main function is to bind with antigens foreign to the individual, in order to neutralize them.

Ethnopharmacological relevance Cnidosculos quercifolius Pohl, commonly known as faveleira, is a plant widely used as a folk medicine used as phytotherapy. From the plant roots of this genus, some activity is reported in the literature as antioxidant potential, inhibition of cellular carcinogenic and antimicrobial agents, among others. Purpose: This work was designed to investigate the faveline rich fraction (FRF) obtained from the root bark for their acute toxicity when administered orally, in vivo antitumor activity evaluated in mice inoculated with sarcoma 180 tumor cells.

A rapid screening procedure was used for the selection and isolation of plant-associated bacteria. The results indicated that methanol medium containing crystal violet might have potential application for selective isolation of methanotrophic bacteria from rhizosphere.

Entender a mente humana em toda a sua complexidade é algo extremamente difícil. Os entraves ao estudo de algo que não é fisicamente palpável são imensos. O objetivo deste estudo é construir um novo mapeamento da mente em correlação com partes mais físicas do nosso corpo como é o caso do encéfalo, do osso esfenóide e da hipófise. Este estudo apresentaa avaliaçãoda precisão de algoritmos deMachine Learning(aprendizado de máquina) na classificação do escore de conformação, por meio de informações de shape(forma) provenientes de Video Image Analysis– VIA (análise por video imagem) da carcaça de cordeiros deslanados.Os resultados mostram que a metodologia adotada é confiável para avaliar a conformação das carcaças.
