Cognitive profile of elderly in primary health care

To investigate the cognitive profile of elderly assisted in Primary Health Care. Descriptive cross-sectional study with a quantitative approach conducted in the city of Campina Grande, in the state of Paraíba (PB), from January to March 2018. The sample consisted of 50 elderly individuals - 10 subjects from each District. An instrument containing questions related to the sociodemographic profile, self-reported health problems and the Mini Mental StateExamination (MMSE) was used.

A COVID-19 é uma doença causada pelo novo Coronavírus (SARS-CoV2). Os profissionais da saúde que estão na linha de frente atuando na prestação de serviços e cuidados aos pacientes com COVID-19 estão mais suscetíveis a contaminação. Objetivou-se relatar a experiência do Núcleo de Apoio e Atendimento ao Trabalhador de um Distrito Sanitário de Salvador-Bahia.

Sars-Cov-2 and cardiovascular diseases: major considerations and systematic review

Introduction: In the new coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) scenario, COVID-19 disease is associated with vascular inflammatory processes, myocarditis, and cardiac arrhythmias, thus, its mortality is associated with cardiovascular diseases (CVD), diabetes, and hypertension. The mechanisms are that cardiovascular disease and pharmacological inhibition of SARS-CoV-2 can increase ACE2 levels, and coronavirus infection can decrease ACE2.

Determinants of neural tube defect spinal bifida in tigray region Ethiopia a case control study 2015/16

Background- Spinal bifida is a common congenital malformation in human and is defined as a disorder of the spinal vertebra due to a failure to closure the caudal part of the Neural tube or a baby's spine does not close completely during early pregnancy. Spinal bifida is one of the complex disorder that cause lifelong disability, dependency and it has an impact on the growth and development of a country. However, evidences on the determinants of spinal bifida in Ethiopia are scarce.

Severity of dental cavity experience in teenagers: a population-based study

Objective: To identify the factors associated with the severity of dental cavity experience among teenagers. Methods: This was a cross-sectional study conducted among 600 teenagers (10-16 years). The dependent variable – severity of the dental cavity - was classified in three categories: no dental cavity experience (DMFT = 0), low dental cavity experience (DMFT <4) and high dental cavity experience (DMFT = 4). The independent variables were grouped according to the theoretical model adapted from Andersen and Davidson (1997).

Profile of obese pregnant women: high risk

Objective: to outline the profile of obese pregnant women attended at a High Gestational Risk Clinic. Method: a retrospective study with a quantitative approach that seeks to describe the profile of the 332 pregnant women diagnosed with obesity attended at the High Gestational Risk Outpatient Clinic, through the documentary assessment of health indicators collected in the high-risk nursing consultation. Results: the study allowed to identify the profile of obese pregnant women in the third health region, as well as the pathologies associated to obesity during pregnancy.

Nutritional status associated with different methods of screening depression in heart failure patients

Introduction: Assessment of nutritional status has been used under different conditions. Objective: Associate nutritional status with different methods for screening for depression in patients with heart failure. Method: Study observational, cross-sectional and prospective study. The diagnosis of nutritional status was carried out through the validated questionnaire Mini nutritional assessment (MNA), anthropometry and tetrapolar bioimpedance. The depression was tracked by the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI-I) and Questionarie Health Patient-9 (PHQ-9).

Polysaccharide-rich extract of genipa americana leaves: acute toxicity study

The leaves of Genipa americana L. (Rubiaceae) are utilized in folk medicine to treat diarrhea, syphilis and gastritis. The objective was to evaluate the acute toxicity of polysaccharides rich extract from leaves of G. americana. They were administered orally during 14 days in rats for toxicity assay based on the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) guideline 423, to identify signs of toxicity, the Malone Hippocratic Screening Scale was applied during the evaluation period. Blood samples were collected for biochemical, hemogram, leukogram and platelet parameters.

Desigualdades regionais no rastreamento do câncer de próstata: estudo de base populacional no Brasil

Objetivo: avaliar a prevalência da realização do exame de toque retal no Brasil e seus fatores associados. Métodos: Dados da Pesquisa Nacional de Saúde 2013, inquérito populacional. Foram calculadas as prevalências de realização do exame, estratificadas a partir de variáveis sociodemográficas e de saúde para Brasil e regiões. Resultados: a região Sul registrou o maior percentual de realização desse exame há menos de 1 ano e a Norte com o maior percentual para os que nunca fizeram o exame.

The sustainability applied in rural education can be summarized in the actions of pedagogical practice in which the individual perceives himself as an integral part of the environment, and of his responsibility as an agent of control and use of natural resources for rational environmental preservation. In this sense, the rural school is one that defends the interests, politics, culture, and economics of peasant agriculture in question from the perspective of the rational use of natural resources.
