Bioatividade anticoagulante e antimicrobiana do óleo vegetal extraído da copaifera multijuga

O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar a ação do óleo da Copaifera multijuga sobre a coagulação sanguínea como um possível agenteanticoagulante e sua ação antimicrobiana. A atividade anticoagulante do óleo foi mensurada através de ensaios “in vitro” utilizando Plasma Pobre em Plaquetas para a determinação do Tempo de Protrombina e do Tempo de Tromboplastina Parcial Ativada.

‘Tripple test score’ – a reliable and accurate means of rapid diagnosis of breast lumps

Introduction: In Breast cancer there is paradigm shift towards its prevention and early detection. Currently a combination of three tests, i.e. physical examination(PE), sonomammography (MM) and Fine needle aspiration cytology/biopsy (FNAC) called as triple assessment test, is used as Gold standard in diagnosing all palpable breast lumps. Materials and Methods This study was conducted in the Department of General Surgery, Government Medical College, Nagpur, spanning 2 years from June 2015 to November 2017. A total of 100 patients with a palpable breast lump of age≥35years were evaluated.

Estudo clínico: Evolução da cicatrização de uma lesão por pressão

A lesão por pressão caracteriza-se pela pressão excessiva em partes moles, mas comumente em proeminências ósseas, podendo atingir a extensão da derme, epiderme, tecido subcutâneo, músculos e ossos. O laser de baixa potência é uma terapia não invasiva, onde é realizado emissão de luz infravermelha ou vermelha. Em vista disso, este estudo objetiva descrever a evolução da lesão por pressão, através da utilização do laser de baixa potência associado com a utilização da pomada de ácido hialurônico 0,2%. Materiais e métodos ocorreram através da abordagem descritiva, do tipo relato de caso.

Epidemiological profile ofpatients with amputation due todiabetic foot

Objective: To characterize the clinical profile of patients with diabetic foot amputation. Materials andMethods: Exploratory, descriptive study, with a quantitative approach, carried out in a public hospital in Campina Grande - PB, with a sample of 208 medical records of patients with amputation due to diabetic foot. Descriptive statistics of relative and absolute frequency, Pearson's Chi-square association test or Fisher's exact test, Poisson regressions and prevalence ratio were used.

Acute hepatic encephalopathy: analysis of imaging finding in a 15-year-old patient

Hepatic encephalopathy is a neuropsychiatric syndrome due to severe liver failure. The clinical presentation is variable. MRI have a critical role in the diagnosis confirmation and understanding the neural mechanism of this disorder. We report the case of a 15-year-old patient, who is followed up for liver cirrhosis and who presents an acute hepatic encephalopathy quickly diagnosed with MRI.

The effect of resisted sprinting on the production of horizontal strength

Background: Strength is a crucial aspect of sport performance and increasing strength is an important aspect of strength and conditioning programs for athletics. Strength and conditioning professionals are constantly innovating programming methods to increase attributes that accurately translateonto the field of play. Use of oral contraceptive decrease adiponectin plasma levels?

Adiponectin (APN) is the most abundant polypeptide produced by adipose tissue in humans. It has an important anti-atherogenic role, suppresses the expression of proinflammatory substances and increases the production of nitric oxide, protecting against most diseases related to the inflammatory process, such as atherosclerosis. On the other hand, observational studies indicate that the use of low-dose combined oral contraceptives (COC) is associated with increased subclinical inflammation.

Impact of fires on tocantins public healthquality indicators

The state of Tocantins develops a long annual period of low rainfall, with greater dominance of the mass of hot and dry air in the months of June, July and August, associated with the increase in forest fires, which becomes a common element in the landscape. The incidence of fires in the Brazilian territory presents a period of greater intensification in this season, especially in the states where the formation predominant plant is that of the Cerrado (savanna) biome in its territorial limits, as is the case of Tocantins.

Permanent health education on care for preterm newborns

The study reports the experience of developing a permanent education activity on care for preterm newborns (PTNB) to health professionals in the hospital context. Descriptive study with a qualitative approach, such as an experience report about a permanent education activity developed by multiprofessional residents of Child and Adolescent Health Care and carried out with multiprofessional teams from the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and the Intermediate Care Unit (UCI) neonates of a reference maternity hospital in the state of Paraíba.

Vulnerabilidades e fatores associados em adolescentes escolares

A adolescência é o período no qual o jovem descobre novos saberes e desperta para novas curiosidades podendo estes adotarem comportamentos de vulnerabilidade levando-os ao adoecimento. Este estudo teve por objetivo mensurar a prevalência de vulnerabilidades em adolescentes escolares no município de Caxias-MA. Trata-se de um estudo descritivo, exploratório, transversal com abordagem quantitativa dos dados realizado em 24 escolas municipais por meio de questionário estruturado aplicado aos participantes.
