Efficacy of salt to control leech infestation in ornamental pleco fish

This study evaluated the efficacy of formalin and sodium chloride bathing to control leech in freshwater ornamental Peckoltia oligospila loricariid fish through blood parameters. This experiment was conducted by using a completely randomized design in three aspects (control, 250mg/L formalin short bath, and 15g/L NaCl short bath for 15 minutes) and four replicates. Water quality, blood parameters and glucose were evaluated. NaCl showed the best results to control parasites. There was no significant difference related to blood parameters.

Régulation des conduites des élèves en situation d’apprentissage: une analyse des feedback des enseignants des écoles primaires urbaine et rurale en Côte d’Ivoire

One of the main functions of evaluation is the regulation of learning. The study of regulatory mechanisms is essential to understand the relationship between teaching and learning, especially in an environment where the heterogeneity of the public makes the homogenization of knowledge and the standardization of pedagogical approaches unrealistic. This study participates in it through the observation and analysis of different forms of teacher feedback to the performance of students from different backgrounds and levels, unlike previous studies (Caffieaux, 2009).

Cerrado Pitanga Seed Storage

Problems are observed in the storage of seeds of some fruit species of the Cerrado, due to their low longevity and tolerance to desiccation. Thus, the present study aimed to verify the behavior of the pitanga seeds from the Cerrado in relation to their storage and implications in the emergency. The work was conducted at Goiano Federal Institute - Ceres Campus.

Possible use of manihot sculenta leaves as food

Several nutritional problems are seen in developing countries, and a countless number of people are affected by chronic undernutrition. Plants such as Cassava (Manihot esculenta) work as a staple food source for over 800 million people around the world. The aerial part of cassava can be used in animal feed, and in human food in the preparation of typical dishes of the Northern (Amazonian region) and Northeastern regions of Brazil.

Variability of the morphological characters of Balanites aegyptiaca (L.) del. based on the climatic gradient of Zinder Region (East-Central Niger)

This study, carried out in the centre-east of Niger, aims to analyse the variability in morphological characteristics of Balanites aegyptiaca, based on the climatic gradient. Thirteen (13) morphological descriptors were defined and used to characterise the natural populations of B. aegyptiaca. They concerned measurements on the morphological aspects of the leaves, thorns and fruits of six (6) spontaneous populations of Balanites aegyptiaca. For each population of B. aegyptiaca, a random selection of 30 individuals carrying fruits was made.

Goat's milk cheese with added amburana cearensis ac smith: market profile, sensory acceptance and refrigerated storage effect

The present study aimed to evaluate the effect of storage time (7, 24, 41 and 58 days) on changes in physical-chemical, microbiological and functional characteristics and to sensorially evaluate the cumaru concentration added to the cheeses which were most accepted by consumers through sensorial testing. Significant differences were observed for most of the evaluated physical-chemical parameters, and via the microbiological analyzes it was evidenced that the cheeses were in accordance with the current legislation.

Structural modeling of the cortisols containing sulfur, selenium and tellurium

Molecular modeling of cortisol (hydrocortisone), using Spartan 14 software for Windows, with a good approximation corroborated the structural data previously obtained by the X-ray technique. The calculation of bond lengths and bond angles provided new structural information on the cortisols, in which sulfur, selenium and tellurium were substituted for oxygen in the keto and hydroxyl functional groups. Most of the geometric parameters obtained for cortisol and its derivatives with heavy chalcogens were similar, except for the striking elongation of the key bonds Ch-H, Ch-C and Ch = O.
