Introduction: The aging process cause several alterations in the organism resulting in several limitations. The functional capacity and motor performance are affected because the loss of muscle and bone mass what decrease the power and strength.These functions can be evaluated through instruments being the commonly used the Lawton scale and Timed Up and Go test (TUG test). Objective: To relate the functional capacity and motor performance in elderly of southeast Bahia. Material and Methods: The samples were composed by 246 seniors of both sex and age range of 65 to 100 years.

Background: In an effort to combine the favorable physical and mechanical properties of conventional composites with the smooth surface typical of the microfilled composites, the hybrid composites were developed. Marginal adaptation of a restoration can be assessed by measuring the amount of microleakage at the interface area, after it has undergone contraction during polymerization. Objective: The aim of the present in-vitro study was to compare and evaluate the microleakage in class I cavity restored with hybrid composite. Method: Thirty freshly extracted human premolars were used.

The objective of the present study is to identify the physical activity practice and funcional capacity in elderly resident in the city of Vitoria da Conquista, Bahia, Brazil. This is a transversal, quantitative and descriptive study. It was selected 80 older from both gender with range of age of 60 to 90 years.

Objetivo: Compreender os sentimentos de famílias de crianças internadas por intoxicação grave e hospitalizadas. Metodologia: Estudo qualitativo e descritivo, com 11 familiares de crianças atendidas em sala de estabilização do (pronto socorro) ou em unidade de terapia intensiva de um hospital ensino da região Noroeste do Paraná, e cadastradas no centro de informação e assistência toxicológica do Hospital. A coleta de dados ocorreu por meio de análise e entrevista hospitalar, gravadas e submetidas à análise de conteúdo.

According the World Health Organization (WHO), the common mental disorder is more elevated in women than men mainly in the climacteric period, between 40 to 50 years and lasting until menopause. One from four people will develop some kind of mental disorder during life. It was realized an epidemiological research, of transversal character, quantitative and descriptive.It was used the socioeconomic questionnaire to identify the women profile that were in climacteric period, consisting of age, marital status, incoming, social class, education level, scholarity type, work.

Introduction: According to the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) 8.8% of the world population aged around 20 to 79 years (415 million people) lived with diabetes in 2015. There has been a growing increase in studies of different forms of management for the type 2 diabetes mellitus treatment. Objectives: to promote the development of skills of seeking theoretical resources that instruct health professionals in the knowledge of interdisciplinary care tools employed in the importance of a multidisciplinary team in the type 2 diabetes mellitus treatment.

Hypertension is the leading cause of morbidity and mortality world widely. Onset of hypertension occurs mainly in the younger phase. The increasing trend of hypertension in children and adolescents in India may be due to the changes in the life styles, food habits, mental stress, playing video games in leisure time, television and lack of physical exercise. Keeping these in mind, the objectives of the present study was to evaluate the prevalence of hypertension in school going adolescents and its relationship with various BMI indices.

Heart failure is a common, costly, disabling, and potentially deadly condition, often called congestive heart failure or congestive cardiac failure, occurs when the heart is unable to provide sufficient pump action to maintain blood flow to meet the needs of the body. Healthy lifestyles are an important facet of cardiovascular risk management. The nurses play a vital role in assisting the patient by means of information, education, support, counselling and technical follow-up to control the heart disease.

Assertive behaviour means accepting ourselves and others as well; it is a behaviour that is built on true self-evaluation while the person openly expresses their feelings, thoughts, enforces their rights and reaches their goals at the same time as they consider other people’s feelings, rights and interests.

Introdução: O envelhecimento da população vem acompanhado do declínio fisiológico e possivelmente acompanhado de uma dependência dos idosos de outras pessoas para a realização de suas atividades básicas até as mais complexas. Estudos recentes mostram que os cuidadores destes idosos em sua maioria são familiares, mulheres, idosas, podendo ser esposas ou filhas. Por exercerem a responsabilidade de cuidar do seu familiar dependente, esses idosos cuidadores têm sua rotina e qualidade de vida afetada.
