Action of trichodermaspp. in the control of fungi that cause diseases in plants of the cerrado of tocantins Biome, Northern Brazil

Fungi of the genus Trichoderma are able to act as agents to control the growth of pathogenic fungi that cause diseases in several cultivated plants. Therefore, this work aimed to select and test Trichodermaisolates capable of inhibiting, in vitro, the mycelial growth of soil pathogens. 50 isolates of Trichoderma spp. were tested against the pathogenic fungi Sclerotiumrolfsii, Rhizoctoniasolani and Fusariumsp. The in vitro culture pairing technique was used, with scores on grades according to the criteria proposed by Bell and percentage of colonization.

Edible coatings based on red propolis, the microbiological evaluation of banana prata anã

The banana, monocotiledônea belongs to the order Scitaminales, family Musaceae, subfamily Musoideae, genus Musa. Propolis is a resinous substance produced by bees through the collection of secondary metabolites of flora and its complex chemical composition and varied. Because of the fruit in natura are highly perishable, post-harvest losses represent a major problem, which can be minimized with the use of new methodologies in the harvest of fruits.

Histological changes of azadirachta indica (neem) on the liver of fresh water catfish heteropneustes fossilis

Introduction: The histological effects of Azadirachta indica (Neem) as a biopesticide, on the liver of Heteropneustes fossilis were determined. The histopathological changes induced in the liver were cytoplasmic vacuolization of the hepatocytes, blood vessel congestion, inflammatory leucocytic infiltration and necrosis. All these alterations in liver histology can be considered to monitor the water contaminated with biopesticides.

Contributions of pharmaceutical care in the control of systemic arterial hypertension in elderly

Systemic arterial hypertension is a public health problem that is difficult to control. Extrinsic and intrinsic factors consist of elements that hinder their diagnostic and medical follow-up. The present study aims to make an approach about the contributions of pharmaceutical attention in the control of the systemic arterial pressure of elderly patients. This is a qualitative, descriptive and exploratory study. For the research, a review of the scientific literature was carried out.

Overcoming the lack of expression of the sodium-iodide symporter protein in anaplastic thyroid cancer stem cells by targeting the phosphatidyl inositol 3-kinase signaling pathway

Background: Anaplastic thyroid carcinoma (ATC) is rare, but it is the most aggressive thyroid cancer. Cancer stem cells (CSCs), which have self-renewal ability and can generate multi-lineage cells, are potential causative agents for ATC recurrence. To assess the role of CSCs in ATC, we evaluated the sodium-iodide symporter (NIS or SLC5A5) and Phosphatidyl Inositol 3-Kinase (PI3K) mRNA levels in the (CD133pos) CSC fraction of ATC cell lines. Methods: Using magnetic cell sorting, we isolated (CD133pos) CSCs from three ATC cell lines.

Digital radio-television emissions for information, education and entertainment

The unprecedented success of social media combined with the availability of omnipotent multimedia capturing communication devices has promoted a fervid two way interaction between broadcasters and their perspective audiences. The social media success path to preeminence, however, has created disillusioned expectations for analogous results in the arena of digital broadcasting.

Assessing vulnerability to climate change of rural fresh water and sanitation – a case study in coastal area in ho chi minh city, Vietnam

The study aimed to assess the vulnerability due to climate change (CC) of rural fresh water and sanitation (RFWS) – an interest issue because of its important role in life as well as sensitivity to CC effects; a case study in coastal area in Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam (Can Gio district). By index method, applied for the first time in RFWS field, vulnerability (V) was evaluated through 51 indicators. They include 20, 12, and 19 indicators with their weights refecting exposure level (E), sensitivity (S), and adaptive capacity (AC) of the system, respectively.

Mental health nursing work in care assistance of attention deficit-hyperactive- disorder

This paper presents concepts about ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) describing its historical process and addressing the implications of this disorder. In addition, the paper describes the nurse in mental health and demonstrates the attributions of this health professional in this thematic. Objective: To describe the mental health care activities performed by the nurse to the ADHD patient.

Modulation of the immune system against the ccr5 Δ-32 variant in hiv infection

After the isolation of the HIV virus by the virologist Luc Montagnier, types I and II were characterized with some peculiarities of behavior and geography. AIDS is a disease that affects all races, social classes, sex, religion and sexual orientation. It is expressed as the viral load increases, depressing the immune system propitiating opportunistic pathogens. Responsible for entry of the viral genome into the cells, this genetic mutation was named CCR5Δ-32 for the loss of 32bp encoding the wild-type CCR5.
