The 2017 quadrennial assessment of interdisciplinary professional master’s programs in Brazil: achievements and challenges

The aim is to examine the criteria of the 2017 Quadrennial Assessment of Professional Master’s Programs in the Interdisciplinary Area in Brazil. The content collected in the document research was systematized into three categories: the composition of the assessment criteria; the participation of students in academic and technical productions; and the dedication of professors to the programs. Based on Vergara’s methodological steps, we described the results obtained in each category and interpreted the data in the light of the theoretical-conceptual support.

Corporate investment grade

Regarding the goal, the scope of this study was the development of an economic and financial indicator aiming to delimit the investment grade that companies present in their corporate structures, through a set of economic and financial indexes linked to liquidity, profitability, debt, and yield, from economic and financial demonstrations of the corporations studied.

A study on women welfare programmes in India

Women play variety of significant roles in our society from their birth till the end of life. Even after playing her all the roles and all the job timely in efficient manner in the modern society, she is weak because men are still strongest gender of the society. Even after lots of awareness programmes, rules and regulations in the society by the government, her life is more complicated than a man. She has to take care of herself and family members as daughter, granddaughter, sister, daughter-in-law, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, etc.

The hausa – mbororo women’s household and commercial activities in north west Cameroon: a historical investigation

The Hausa and Mbororo women found in the North West Region of Cameroon migrated from Northern Nigeria alongside their male counterparts in the 18th and 19th centuries. By the early 20th century, they had arrived and settled in the North West Region. While the Hausa and Mbororo men were busy trading and grazing their animals, the women were more engaged with their household economy. Two types of families existed among the Hausa and Mbororo Communities, namely the nuclear and extended families.

Effectiveness of a commercial symbiotic in an experimental model of ulcerative colitis

To verify the effects of a commercial symbiotic in an experimental model of ulcerative colitis. For this, male Wistar rats (5 weeks old) were used. The induction of Ulcerative Colitis was performed via intracolonic route with trinitrobenzenesulfonic acid (TNBS) (10mg TNBS/0.75ml ethanol/50%). The animals were distributed in: sham, treated with ultrapure water (CT); colitis, treated with ultrapure water (TNBS CT); colitis, treated with mesalazine (TNBS MES); and colitis, treated with the symbiotic (TNBS SYM).

Multiculturalism: a challenge for education

This manuscript briefly presents some aspects about multiculturalism and its influences on education. The objective of manuscript was to study the relevance of learning regarding the characteristics of multiculturalism for school education. It is a work done through bibliographic studies. The theoretical background comes from scholars such as Del Priore (2008); Canen (2007); Werneck (2008) etc. The knowledge about multiculturalism and its socioeconomic and socio-cultural dynamics is of vital importance to students of primary and secondary education, both in Brazil and in the world.

Loop connector fixed partial denture – a subtle solution to maintain diastema

Space management while restoring an edentulous space might be quiet difficult sometimes either due to drifting of teeth into edentulous area or an existing diastema before an extraction which may result in excessive mesiodistal dimension of the pontic space. Loop connector fixed partial denture (FPD) may be the simplest and best solution to maintain the diastema and provide optimum restoration of aesthetics.

Comparison of augmented auditory feedback with and without mental imagery on psychomotor skill learning in precision shooting among rifle shooters

Background: Mental training is a tool for improving learning and performance. Sports imagery defined as using all senses to create or re-create any (sports) experience in the mind (auditory, visual, tactile, olfactory, gustatory, kinaesthetic, organic) with the goal of enhancing sports performance during training and competition. Feedback refers to performance related information. For learning a motor skill the role of task related feedback information is considered an important factor for enhancing the learning.

A methodical qualitative and quantitative study of sublime “violet poison” w.s.r. to rasakarpura

Rasakarpura is one of the Nirgandha murchana bheda of Parada. It appears as a white sublimate with chemical composition of mercuric chloride. The artificially prepared rasakarpura is commonly available in the market, prepared sublimed from metallic mercury, sulphuric acid and rock salt. This compound is widely used for many ayurvedic preparations. It is also known as Mercury bi-chloride or Mercury per-chloride. It appears as crystals or white granules or as powder; in the toxicology field it has a nickname “violet poison”.
