Men’s health policy: male experiences

Objective: Describe the experiences of male perpetrators of domestic violence on PNAISH. Method: This is a qualitative study with a descriptive-exploratory character. Data collection took place at the School of Nursing at the Federal University of Bahia in the city of Salvador with 14 men who participated in the reflective groups. The collection was carried out in two parts, the first with a semi-structured questionnaire and the second using a human board game with questions aimed at PNAISH.

Nutritional immumomodulatory therapy in patients with gastric neoplasms: an Integrative Review

This work consists of an integrative, exploratory-descriptive review, which aims to review the available evidence on the role of immunonutrition in the treatment of patients with surgical gastric cancer, being carried out through a retrospective survey of studies that raised data on immunonutrition and its attributions in patients with gastric cancer.

Problem-based learning in physiotherapy teaching: an integrative revision

Introduction: Problem Based Learning (PBL) is one of the most used active teaching methods in health courses, motivating and bringing the student to the center of their training process. Objective: To identify and analyze the use of PBL in teaching physiotherapy. Method: Systematic integrative bibliographic review in national and international databases, using Health Science Descriptors and their MeSH Terms: physiotherapy, education, problem-based learning. Result: Among 148 articles identified, 22 were selected.

Effectiveness of tens versus microcurrent in patients with cervical radiculopathy

Background: Cervical radiculopathy is a dysfunction of nerve root of the cervical spine where C6 & C7 nerve roots are the most commonly affected. It encompasses important symptoms other than pain, such as paraesthesia, numbness and muscle weakness in dermatomal or myotomal distribution of an affected nerve root. A multitude of physical therapy interventions have been proposed to be effective in the management of cervical radiculopathy, including micro current, manipulation, therapeutic exercises and TENS.

Giant diving goiter challenge for the anesthesiologist in managing a difficult airway case report

Introduction: The management of a difficult airway is variable and depends on many factors including airway examination, patient characteristics, and medical history. For patients with goiter, in addition to the standard risck factors, there are factors related to the disease. Methods: A case report of a patient with difficult airway caused by a giant goiter treated at the Amazonas State Oncology Control Center Foundation. Results: The patient was intubated awake with multimodal sedation under direct laryngoscopy.

Foreign body in the nose, ear and oropharynx of children and adolescents treated in a public reference hospital

Introduction: The aim of the current prospective study is to feature the service provided to 0-19-year-old patients diagnosed with foreign body in the nose, ear or oropharynx, in a public reference hospital, from February 2017 to November 2019. Methods: All 232 patients were subjected to full otorhinolaryngological examination before the foreign body was removed; patients’ data such as age, sex, time of evolution with foreign body, foreign body site and type, and complications were recorded in a form developed by the service itself.

Analysis of the HIV/AIDS mortality rate in the municipality of belém

Mortality rates from HIV/AIDS in Brazil have tended to stabilize since 2000, with increased survival after the advent of ART. However, the resolution of mortality from this disease was not equal among all regions. This study enables the analysis of the high and persistent mortality rate in Belém-PA and compares it with others in Brazil. Methods: Epidemiological, cross-sectional, descriptive-analytical study with a quantitative approach. Data were obtained from DATASUS and from the Ministry of Health's HIV/AIDS Epidemiological Bulletin, from August 2019 to July 2020.

Prevalence of stress, anxiety and depression in nursing professionals in critical covid-19 units

Objective:to analyze the prevalence of stress, anxiety and depression in nursing professionals in critical units of covid-19, as well as its prevalence.Method:integrative literature review carried out in the informational resources PubMed, Cochrane, LILACS, BDENF, and SciELO using the descriptors: COVID-19; Intensive care units; Mental health; Anxiety; Nursing, with articles published between 2020 and 2021. Results: 10 complete studies were selected for interpretive analysis.

Hipotonia neonatal: revisão de literatura sobre suas causas e propedêutica diagnóstica

A hipotonia neonatal se manifesta entre o nascimento e os primeiros 28 dias de vida, tendo geralmente um quadro de sucção débil, alterações nos reflexos primitivos e importante comprometimento do desenvolvimento neuropsicomotor. Trata-se de um diagnóstico complexo, por ser a hipotonia um sinal clínico inespecífico, mas que geralmente cursa associado à doença grave.
