Evaluation of Antibiotic effects in Hospitalized Patients with Urinary tract Infection: A Cross-Sectional Investigation

Objective: To identify predominant UTI-causing microorganisms in hospitalized patients, assess antibiotic effects on prognosis and hospital stay, and find favorable antibiotic alternatives for UTI management. Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional study of 189 adult UTI patients. Data on demographics, laboratory results, antibiotics, and hospital stays were collected. Stringent inclusion criteria were used. Multiple regression and statistical tests assessed hospitalization factors. Results: In the 18-95 age range, women showed a greater prevalence of UTIs (52.4%) than males (47.6%).

Training teachers and civil servants in the basics of first aid and extrication maneuvers for children and adolescents

Accidents can happen anywhere and at any time. But within the context of randomness, there is a percentage of possibilities to avoid them through adequate training of the agents involved. On the other hand, in the school environment, due to its specific characteristics, there is a greater probability of occurrence. In Brazil, every year, five hundred children unfortunately suffer a fatal choking accident. Most of these children could be saved with simple measures. There is no time to wait or take the child to the Emergency Medical Service.

Evaluation of dermal toxicity and antioxidant property of zanthoxylum oxyphyllum extracts

Zanthoxylum oxyphyllum is a tropical plant, which is traditionally used in the treatment and management of various conditions including analgesic, anti-inflammatory, skin infection and wounds. The aim of this study was to investigate antioxidant property and acute dermal toxicity of Zanthoxylum oxyphyllum. For evaluation of antioxidant properties DPPH radical scavenging activity and Nitric oxide scavenging activity was performed. Oxidation is the integral part of aerobic process of life.

A case of recurrent hemoptysis presenting with hypoxia and pulmonary infiltrates

Diffuse Alveolar Haemorrhage had been one of the most misdiagnosed and under rated causes of hemoptysis leading to mis management in many cases. Many causes of Diffuse Alveolar Haemorrhage arises from Vasculitis and therefore are treatable and controllable. Here we got a Female Child of 13 years from Rural area who had been suffering since 6 years of her age from the hemoptysis and hypoxia and admitted thrice for the same. The initial management were symptomatic and even 1 course of Antitubercular drug.

Prevalence of diabetic foot in a group of elderly users of primary health care

Objective: The objective of this study was to determine the prevalence of diabetic foot among users diagnosed with type I or II diabetes mellitus, attended by the Basic Health Unit Jardim Clipper, in the year 2022. Method: Epidemiological, descriptive, and cross-sectional study. All data were obtained from the medical records of patients attended by the Basic Health Unit Jardim Clipper, in the year 2022, located in the municipality of São Paulo, SP, Brazil. The sample consisted of 139 people diagnosed with type I and II diabetes mellitus.

Background: Gummies offer a novel supplement delivery method appealing to children. This study investigates the safety, efficacy, and organoleptic properties of three distinct gummies— Curcumin Gummies, Vitamin-B-complex Gummies, and Vitamin-C Gummies in paediatric health. Methods: A 30-day open-label, three-arm, parallel design study with 48 children assessed the efficacy, safety, and organoleptic properties of the gummies. Subjects were randomized to receive one of the gummies. Endpoints included sickness frequency, Quality-of-Life hedonic questionnaires.
