Reliablity of Singh index in grading of osteoporosis using digital radiographs in elderly patients with proximal femoral fractures

Even though dual energy X-ray absorptiometry is the gold standard for measuring the osteoporosis, many institutes in India doesn't have the facility. Singh index for osteoporosis in plain radiographs have low reliability. So in this retrospective study, we used digital radiographs to analyze the relationship between the Singh index with age, gender, fracture site, laterality, along with intra and inter-observer reliability in elderly patients having proximal femoral fractures due to simple fall.

Evaluation of the anti-ulcer properties of aqueous leaf extract of Dialium guineense (Velvet Tamarind) on experimentally induced ulcer models in rats

The aqueous leaf extract of Dialium guineense was investigated for anti- ulcerogenic effects using ethanol/HCI and indomethacin as the ulcerogens. The effect of the extract on gastric mucus secretion was also investigated. The extract was administered orally at the doses of 100 and 200 mg/kg for the experimental groups while the control and reference groups received distilled water (5ml/kg, p.o) and cimetidine (32 mg/kg, p.o) respectively.

Orthodontic-endodontic: an interdisciplinary approach

During orthodontic treatment various precautions that have to be kept in mind while planning a treatment approach for endodontically treated teeth during orthodontic tooth movement. There are various questions to be answered such as what happens to dental pulp , is there any apical root resorption of endodontically treated. Hence this article will review about the comprised treatment approach for proper diagnosis and treatment of endodontically treated teeth during orthodontic tooth movement.

Antiulcer activity of seed extracts of Gynocardia odorata roxb. on pylorus ligation and indomethacin induced gastric lesions in albino rats

Objective: The study was designed to evaluate anti-ulcer activity of ethanolic and aqueous seed extracts of Gynocardia odorata roxb. by using pylorus ligation and indomethacin induced ulcer models inrats.

Effects of stress induced chronic depression and antidepressant drugs on dentate gyrus of hippocampus in adult albino rats

The pilot study is conducted using 30 adult albino rats (150-200 gm). They were divided into one control and two experimental groups of equal numbers. Group 1 is Control (Ctrl), Group 2 is Chronic Depression (Ch.Dp) and Group 3 is Treatment Group (Ch.Tt) following Chronic Depression. Ctrl Group received food and water ad-libitum, Ch.Dp Group received Chronic Depression by immobilization method in a Rat Immobilizer for 7 weeks, whereas Ch.Tt Group received anti-depressant drug (Flouxetine 1mg/kg body weight orally) for 4 weeks following depression.

Addressing increased demand for health services with limited capacity: Challenges and strategies

This paper examines the growing challenge of increased demand for health services in the context of limited healthcare capacity. A comprehensive literature review analyzed studies published between 2000-2013 on healthcare demand, capacity constraints, and strategies to address this imbalance. The review included 30 studies meeting the inclusion criteria. Results demonstrate that aging populations, rising chronic disease prevalence, and expanded insurance coverage contribute to increased healthcare demand.

Digital Health and health Equity: the role of Technological Innovations in Reducing Global Health Disparities

This paper explores the impact of digital health technologies on health equity, particularly in addressing global health disparities. Digital health encompasses a range of tools, including telemedicine, mobile health apps, and electronic health records. The study examines how these innovations can improve access to healthcare, enhance the quality of care, and reduce costs, thus contributing to health equity. The methodology involves a literature review and comparative analysis of worldwide digital health implementations.
