Nash equilibrium – A strategy of games theory

The paper presents an overview of the concept of Nash Equilibrium and its importance in application of games theory. Beginning with the history of Nash Equilibrium, its relevance in understanding and analyzing the outcome of strategic interactions in decision-making is elucidated with examples. Prisoners’ Dilemma, Coordination game, network traffic, competition game, matching pennies, stag hunt - are some of few strategic concepts/games that exemplify the Nash Equilibrium and help in decision-making.

Legislative and policy aspects of hospital waste

National legislation is the basis for improving health-care waste practices in any country. It establishes legal controls and permits the national agency responsible for the disposal of health-care waste, usually the ministry of health, to apply pressure for their implementation. The ministry of environment or national environmental protection agency may also be involved; there should be a clear designation of responsibilities before the law is enacted. The law should be complemented by a policy document, and by technical guidelines developed for implementation of the law.

Comprehensive health insurance scheme and factors associated with health care utilization: A case study among insured households in Kerala

Background: to protect the people from high economic cost of illness and providing financial protection at the time of hospitalization, government of Kerala introduced a unique health insurance scheme  in 2008. This study is trying to explore the utilization among insured people and the problems regarding the utilization.

Survival rate of breast cancer patients with different age groups and the subtype of breast cancer

Purpose – The study includes the comparison between older patience having the breast cancer with the younger ones, on the basis of their survival rate and characteristics of the tumor. The tumor characteristics is a crucial to be known for the increase in survival rate of the patient. The study elaborates the tumor characteristics and helps to identify the risk factors to be considered. Methodology – Retrospective analysis of several papers were done and there analysis are being compared to provide vital information on breast cancer patient and their survival rate.

Cultural practices and the health of 0-15 years children in Nigeria: The role of community health practitioners

People’s cultural practices do not only affect their health, but every other facet of life of the people including health and disease. People living in an environment are interactive with such environment and therefore, affected by what happens and how they react to occurrences. This implies that the deterrents and determinants of health and disease in a community cannot be completed unless the cultural practices of the people are considered. Many cultural practices have helped to promote and increase the prevalence of certain diseases and health problems in Nigeria.

Study on adoption behavior of tribal dairy cooperative member’s in Purulia district of W.B.

Tribal are having traditional culture of livestock rearing along with agriculture, Hunting etc. for their livelihood. A study was carried out in 05 no’s of densely tribal populated blocks in Purulia district having dairy cooperatives farming system. From the purposively selected blocks, 05 GP’s were selected and form each of the selected blocks & GPs 50% of the tribal and non-tribal dairy cooperative members were selected randomly.

A comparative study of the effect of intravenous tramadol hydrochloride and intravenous clonidine hydrochloride on post spinal an aesthesia shivering

Background: Control of post spinal shivering is essential for optimal perioperative care, which can be achieved either by oral or parental medications. The present study is designed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of intravenous low-dose clonidine and tramadol in the treatment of post spinal shivering.

The filarial dance sign in scrotal filarial infection- a retrospective study

Objective. To determine the value of the filarial dance sign as a diagnostic sign of scrotal filarial infection and to recognize unsuspected scrotal filariasis by this sign.
Methods. Five symptomatic patients in whom the filarial dance sign was shown on high-resolution ultrasonography were studied, investigated, and followed after treatment with diethylcarbamazine citrate. Two patients underwent fine-needle aspiration.

Background: Behavioral disorder is a condition that is caused by individuals experiencing changes in their thoughts and emotions which manifest as challenging behaviors.
Objectives: To find out the prevalence rate of behavioral disorders and emotional disorders among school children and the relationship of these disorders with personal variables as well as to socio-demographic factors of the child's family.
